Author Brenda Mohammed - Banker turned Writer


Brenda Mohammed is a renowned, multi-genre, award-winning author, and poet from Trinidad in the Caribbean.
To date, she has written twenty-six books and published three anthologies.
The former Bank Manager holds a Diploma in Banking from the Institute of Bankers in London.
Brenda also obtained a Diploma in Life Underwriting from the American College, USA, and qualified for the Million Dollar Round Table, the Premier Association for Financial Professionals, six times in a row.
Brenda’s writing career sparked after her near-death experience with Cancer and her recovery.
In 2013, she wrote the book, I AM CANCER FREE which became a best seller.
That gave her the encouragement to continue writing.
Some of her books won multiple awards.
Besides awards for her books, she received several Global Literature awards.
She also fell in love with writing poetry and published three poetry books.
On 7th November 2018, Yvonne Webb of the Trinidad Newsday newspaper wrote an article about her.
In December 2018 she was featured in the issue of the Presbyterian News in Trinidad and Tobago.
On 17th November 2019, Alem Hailu of the Sunday Edition of the Ethiopian Herald published an interview with her.
On Thursday, May 23, 2019, host Barbara Ehrentreu of RR Tales from the pages interviewed her and another author on her radio station.
On 16th February 2020, Alem Hailu of the Ethiopian Herald reviewed and published a Review on Brenda’s book, How to Write for Success. The article was entitled, “How to melt the world into words”.
Some of her poetry appeared in prestigious journals and anthologies in India, Kazakhstan. and other parts of the world
Her work in Literature for Suicide Prevention is recognized worldwide. She was the driving force in the production of the Anthology, A Spark of Hope: A Treasury of Poems for Saving Lives Volumes 1 and 2. The books topped the charts on Amazon and made Best Seller №1 within the space of a few days.
Together with 87 co-authors, Brenda also published a ground-breaking Anthology BREAK THE SILENCE, An Anthology Against Domestic Violence on March 5th, 2020.
The book contained an article by the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Trinidad, Right Reverend Joy Abdul-Mohan. The Anthology topped the charts of Amazon in a few days and became an Amazon bestseller No 1
After the success of her self-help book, How to Write for Success, she founded the Literary Forum How to Write for Success, with sub-groups — Poems for Suicide Prevention, How to Write for Success Library, and Poems against Domestic Violence.

LITERATURE AWARDS

World Nation Writers’ Union

Member of the World Nations Writers’ Union, Kazakhstan.
In October 2018 she was appointed an Honorary Member of the World Higher Literary Academic Council of World Nations Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan.
On 29 December 2018, she was awarded the World Laureate in Literature by World Nations Writers’ Union.
On 31 December 2018, she received a Certificate of Honour for serving as a juror in an International Poetry Contest sponsored by the World Nations Writers’ Union.
In August 2019 she received the World Poetic Star Award from World Nations Writers’ Union.
In May 2020 Brenda received yet another prestigious award from World Nations Writers’ Union.
In celebration of the 1150th anniversary of the outstanding thinker, philosopher, mathematician, music theorist, scholar of the East, Abu Nasr Ibn Muhammad al-Farabi, the World Nations Writers’ Union, Kazakhstan, awarded a world rare and precious prize ‘FOR MERITS TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF WORLD LITERATURE’ for writers or organizations with high merit contribution to the development of contemporary world literature and to promote friendship and fraternity among peoples of the world. This award was given in consideration of their lifetime achievements in terms of thoughts, mentorship, and precision of their pen.
Brenda, along with nine other writers, received this award in her personal capacity, as well as for the Literary Facebook Forum she founded How to Write for Success.
On 8th June 2020, World Nations Writers’ Union again awarded her a World’s Best Literary Jury Member Award 2020 for being a Jury member with great evaluation skills and who had supported in evaluating hundreds of submissions for various contests conducted by the Union.

Motivational Strips

On 30 December 2018, she received a Global Literature Guardian Award from Motivational Strips and Associates, the world’s most active writers’ forum.
In March 2019, Motivational Strips and its Nominating Authorities awarded her with a Golden Dove of Peace award.
She was appointed as Regional Director, Operations, Motivational Strips, the world’s most active writers’ forum, by the Founder Shiju H Pallithazheth.
On 16 October 2019, she was awarded the Order of Shakespeare Medal by Motivational Strips.
On 20th February 2020, Brenda Mohammed was conferred by Motivational Strips with the Peacock Opinion Award, which is the highest level of honour awarded to authors who have shown exceptional support to World Literature.

Union Hispaniomundial De Escritores, Peru

In June 2019 she was appointed as National President of the Union of Writers, Union Hispaniomundial de Escritores for Trinidad and Tobago by Carlos Hugo Garrido Chalen, the President and Founder.
On 22 February 2020, she was bestowed with a World Award of Excellence in Literature 2019–2020 by the Provincial Municipality of Urubamba, Republic Government of Peru.
The certificate of Excellence was issued by Luis Alberto Valcarcel Villegas, Mayor of Urubamba. The world award of excellence 2019–2020 was conducted by the Government of Peru jointly with their Associates Motivational Strips, Worlds Most active writers’ online forum, World Nations Writers Union, Kazakhstan, and the Union Hispanomundial De Escritores, Peru.
Mrs. Brenda Mohammed was one of the selected poets from Trinidad for this highly distinguished recognition.

Seychelles Government

On 31 August 2019, she was honored by the Seychelles Government Accredited Literary Society [ LLSF] for her contribution to World Poetry, creativity, and writing expertise.

The book received a five-star review and five-star seal from Readers Favorite one month after publication. It also won the gold award in the category Non-Fiction in Connections EMagazine Readers’ Choice awards 2019, and a silver medal for second place in all genres
The book is her inspiration for founding the Facebook group, How to write for Success, with 6000 plus members. It is very popular amongst university students and new and aspiring authors who have written fantastic reviews about it. Alem Hailu of the Ethiopian Herald published a review about it on 16 February 2020.
