In a world of ever increasing violence we reflect on these words.
"Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6)
"Praying for Your Children
Matthew 18:2-6
When Jesus called that youngster to his side He had a great message for the world -- those who wish to be great must become humble, like a little child. The contrasts that are evident within a child are both astonishing and profound. On the one hand, a child can be innocent, loving and caring. But because of the sin nature that is within all of us, children can also display anger, hate, and spite.
The heart and mind of a child are moldable, like clay. But that openness only lasts for a season. At some point during adolescence the humble, child-like spirit dissipates and people start to become more set in their ways.
That is why the Bible admonishes us to, "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). There are only a few golden years when a child is open to life-molding instruction. In fact, research tells us that most people who receive Christ do so before their 18th birthday.
Are you praying for the children in your life? They may be your own little ones -- or your relatives or neighbors. Pray that God would touch their lives in a special way while they are still young and humble enough to receive the Gospel. Pray that they would experience the love of God in such a real way that they could not help but pass that love along to others.
Pray for revival in the lives of the children you come in contact with every day.
Of course, you don't have to be a parent to impart faith to the next generation. There are innumerable opportunities for you to touch the lives of children all around you. Look for ways that you can touch the life of a youngster for Jesus Christ. You may volunteer to help in your children's program at church. You could get involved with your local Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts. Or you could become a Big Brother or Big Sister to a youngster in your community.
Our future is in the hands of the next generation. Depending on your point of view, that thought can give you comfort, or it can frighten you. Through prayer and action, you can make a difference to these young people -- and possibly affect them for eternity."

WHY I WROTE MEMOIRS
When I retired from the Bank at an early age, I was depressed.
Everyone in my family noticed that in the weeks leading up to my retirement my demeanour had changed. I had ceased to be jovial and fun loving. My husband and my sisters did their best to brighten up my days. I managed to force a smile or a giggle to appease them, but no one realized that I was feeling as if I had come to the end of my life.
I went through the motions at the grand retirement party, which the bank staff hosted at a popular restaurant in South Trinidad. Customers and staff were present.
The ambience was enchanting, and the speeches were great.
Superiors, colleagues, customers, and staff showered me with praises and gifts. Their words brought tears to my eyes. However, all I could think about was, “What lies ahead for me?”
Fortunately, for me, my husband had planned a trip for both of us to attend a friend’s wedding in Virginia in the USA. We left the morning after the retirement party. All during the flight, I kept remembering the words of the many who spoke at the party. It all seemed like a dream.
When we arrived in Virginia, I felt relaxed. Virginia is remarkably beautiful. We had so much fun over the next three weeks that I forgot all about the bank.
We returned home after a glorious vacation. I gave away all of my working clothes as I felt that I no longer needed them. I decided to dabble in art. Out of nowhere, my talent for art surfaced and I painted several pieces, which I framed and hung in my library.
I applied for other jobs and received positive responses from many firms. I accepted a job in an Insurance Company, and of course had to buy a new wardrobe of clothes. Since I did not have to work full time, I needed something else to keep me busy.
It was then that I decided to write ‘My Life as a Banker: A Life worth Living.”
The book has been very popular with fellow bankers in Trinidad. I revised the book in 2014, published it on Amazon and Create Space, and donated copies to the National Library of Trinidad and Tobago, and my Alma Mater St. Augustine Girls’ High School.
Later on, I was having so much fun as a retiree, that I wrote, ‘Retirement is Fun: A New Chapter.’
Notwithstanding my bout with Cancer in 2005 and a terrible car accident, while vacationing in Miami in 2011, retirement has indeed been fun.
My recovery from cancer inspired me to write another memoir, “I am Cancer Free.”
My career in the Insurance Industry was also successful. I qualified each year for membership in The Million Dollar Round Table [The Premier Association for Financial Professionals], and this gave me many opportunities to travel to different parts of the United States to attend the MDRT conferences. My frequent travels worldwide prompted me to write another memoir, ‘Travel Memoirs with Pictures.’
I was inspired to write yet another memoir - 'Your Time is Now : A Time to be born and a Time to die.' I had a driving force within me to write this one. The book explains it all.
Last, but not least, is my father's memoirs. I wrote that book a number of years after the death of my father. He was an educator and his story is very motivational. I gathered information from notes and diaries he kept and I put the book together. Past and present Presidents of Trinidad and Tobago have requested copies for their libraries.
Both My Life as a Banker: A Life worth Living and Retirement is Fun: A New Chapter were nominated in the Category Bio/Memoirs for Metamorph Publishing Summer Indie Book Awards 2016. The preliminary results show that My Life as a Banker: A Life worth Living placed second in that category.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all my Facebook friends, family, former banking colleagues, and friends in Author groups, who all voted for my books.
Books are available at Amazon, Barnes and Nobles and Create Space.

Five Star Review of Your Time is Now
A true story told with pure intentions and true feelings
By Roma Sinanan on May 17, 2014
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
A true story told with pure intentions and deep feelings. It's simplicity and well scripted chapters grow into each other methodically and freely. The reader is impelled to move on with ease and comfort. There is a pervasive humility in each incident which truly reflects the author's character and personality. Her pride in her heritage and family ties touches deep into the soul and absorbs the attention of the reader. Personal circumstances told, reflect her openness to inform and tutor at the same time, what one can derive from challenges unexpected, if rooted in the trust one places in God.
The author's implicit belief in divine intervention summarizes her message. I have enjoyed, I have been touched and have had my personal convictions reiterated in this most interesting and soul searching book. I recommend it to all especially to you who in times when the clouds grow dark- the silver linings emerge to remind us of a light emerging on the other side. This is the author's stor

Your Time is Now - A Time to be Born and a Time to Die
This book seeks to offer readers an opportunity to reflect on their own lives and to realize that there is a deeper meaning to life on earth. I was inspired to write this book because in my own life I realized that there is a time and purpose for everything that happens in our lives.
The words spoken by King David's son King Solomon in Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 Verses 1 to 8 in the Holy Bible have always inspired me. As I reflected on those words I formed a picture of my own life which ties back up with those words.
Each Chapter of the book deals with one verse and you will read from my experiences that we are each here for a reason. Coming up with the title was easy.
"Your time is now". It is as simple as that. Your time is now to realize that "we are spiritual beings having a human experience." Rick Warren said those words I quoted, in one of his books. We are here on earth preparing for eternity. Our time is now to ensure that we qualify to live forever with Our Lord and Saviour.
When we were born we came with nothing except a body and soul. When we die we leave with only our souls. Our souls are not our minds. Our minds are only concerned with survival on earth. The Soul belongs to God and the Soul will give an account of our life here on earth to God. Our Souls will be our answer books. Do we want to pass the test to enter into Eternal Life?
The time is definitely now to make changes in our life. The result will be two-fold. We will leave in a peaceful world for the short time we are here on earth, and we will live forever in God's Kingdom.
