Readers, this is shocking

This is the spookiest thing to happen.
I just read an article in science news where new clinical trials are being conducted to attempt to bring back humans to life.
This sounds just like my Science Fiction series about Revenge of Zeeka.
I never imagined that what I imagined could come true.
Here is the link to the article:
NEW CLINICAL TRIAL WILL ATTEMPT TO BRING BACK DEAD HUMANS TO LIFE
When I wrote the series Zeeka Chronicles it was just science fiction - stuff that I made up and imagined.
Read the series and see for yourself.
The stories are set in the year 2036.
Will it really happen in real life?

Paydown by Best Selling Author Nick Stephenson

Before I started writing books i received emails from Nick Stephenson but never bothered to read them.
Earlier this week I decided to open one of his emails and i was surprised to see that he is a best- selling author.

The following is an extract from his latest email:

"Looking over what we've talked about thus far, I can't help but feel there's something missing.

Because it's one thing to know all the theory about how to build your career and your audience, but it's quite another thing to actually go out and do it.

It can feel overwhelming. And I know this because I get overwhelmed all the time. But whenever I feel myself getting snowed under, I always remember to think about the moment in my life when everything changed.

This is the glorious view from our old (tiny) apartment. Took me forever to blur out the logos...

It was 8am. I'd been up for nearly two hours, dealing with a screaming baby. Monday morning already, and I had to be back in the office in less than twenty minutes.

Back working a job I hated, for a boss who drove me crazy.

It had gotten to the point where I couldn't sleep. I used to spend my entire Sunday worrying about having to go back to work - knowing that I should be out actually writing something instead of spending another 9 hours behind a desk.

And this was all while dealing with a newborn baby, moving house, getting a mortgage...

You can imagine how I felt.

But this particular Monday morning was different.

***

I remember checking my phone before leaving the house, as I was pulling on my coat and getting ready to get inside my iced-up car.

I'd received four emails from my fans since checking my phone the night before. I'd also sold nearly fifty books while I was asleep.

I remember thinking: "I made as much money while I was asleep as I'm going to make all day shackled to my computer".

That particular Monday morning was the day I decided to quit my job. A few months later, I was officially a full-time author.

Two years later, I expanded my business into direct products and training courses, hitting the seven-figure mark just this year.

It took a lot of courage to make that change. To give up a regular full-time income and benefits and rely solely on my income from writing and teaching.

Was this decision overwhelming at the time? Nerve-wracking? Terrifying?

Absolutely.

But when a decision is that difficult, you know it's one you have to make. And I've never looked back.

Now, instead of spending my entire weekend stressing out over having to go back to a job I hate, I get to do something I love. Something I created.

Soon after, I was able to move my family out of our cramped apartment. My wife didn't have to go back to work after maternity leave ended.

Now, with our second son growing up fast, we both get to spend all day with our children.

***

THAT'S what my success as an author and entrepreneur means to me - getting to spend more time with the people I love. And it all happened because I didn't let anything hold me back.

So, whenever things are looking like they're getting too much to handle, I just take a moment and think about that particular Monday morning in early February. And suddenly things don't seem so difficult anymore.

Now, when I see an opportunity I take it. I figure - if I can turn my entire life upside down, anything else is going to be child's play."

Paydown was offered to me free and I read it.
This is my Review:

A high-flying Wall Street Banker, fraud, and murder make this book an interesting read.
I hope to read more of this author's books in the future.
Thanks to Nick Stephenson for making this book Free for me.

Five Star Book Review of Heart - Warming Tales

Fun and fear-filled fables for a modern audience
By Kato's Revenge on January 15, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition

This is the second collection of stories I have read in a row. This author is new to me so it is interesting to pick up this writer's particular 'voice' and over the course of this book, it comes across well.

Her Online Predator is perhaps the best of a strong bunch of stories, with Marriage On the Rocks a close second (though the male character Roberto was a little to subservient to his wife for my liking). The Undertaker's Wife has a wonderful underlying plot - we can probably see what is coming before the end, and its cool to see the MC freaking out along the way, before the big reveal is made.

All the stories are well written and readable. The stories are different from each other and make for interesting reading. Recommended.

THE FUTURE WORLD DESCRIBED BY DANIEL [Daniel Chapter 2]

This is one of the poems I wrote in the sub-section of STORIES PEOPLE LOVE

THE FUTURE WORLD DESCRIBED BY DANIEL [Daniel Chapter 2]

Nebuchadnezzar had a dream which he was unable to cipher,
A statue with a head made of fine gold, with chest and arms of silver.
Belly and thighs of bronze, and legs of iron displayed,
Its feet combined of iron and clay had Nebuchadnezzar amazed.

A mighty rock smashed the statue’s feet causing it to sway
And after shattering it to bits the wind blew the bits away.
The rock covered the earth and Nebuchadnezzar awoke
He pondered on this dream and his thoughts were provoked.

Magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers were consulted.
But all scratched their heads and Nebuchadnezzar felt insulted.
Because the meaning of this dream was beyond their imagination
And Nebuchadnezzar felt mad and ordered their execution.

But Daniel a captive from Judah offered an explanation,
That brought Nebuchadnezzar great jubilation.
Daniel said that Nebuchadnezzar was the head of gold
His kingdom was strong and he would be bold.

But after his kingdom had reached its end.
An inferior one would rule again.
And yet another would rise after the second had fallen.
A kingdom of bronze would be the third to have risen.

Following that kingdom there would be a fourth, strong as iron,
That kingdom would crush previous empires.
It would be divided however as clay and iron cannot mix,
But the kingdom of God would rise in its midst.

The kingdom of God will be as solid as a rock.
No one can crush it, whoever tries will be out of luck.
The dream was true and its meaning was certain.
The kingdom of God would stand forever unending.

Your Time is Now - A Time to be Born and a Time to Die

This book seeks to offer readers an opportunity to reflect on their own lives and to realize that there is a deeper meaning to life on earth. I was inspired to write this book because in my own life I realized that there is a time and purpose for everything that happens in our lives.
The words spoken by King David's son King Solomon in Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 Verses 1 to 8 in the Holy Bible have always inspired me. As I reflected on those words I formed a picture of my own life which ties back up with those words.
Each Chapter of the book deals with one verse and you will read from my experiences that we are each here for a reason. Coming up with the title was easy.
"Your time is now". It is as simple as that. Your time is now to realize that "we are spiritual beings having a human experience." Rick Warren said those words I quoted, in one of his books. We are here on earth preparing for eternity. Our time is now to ensure that we qualify to live forever with Our Lord and Saviour.
When we were born we came with nothing except a body and soul. When we die we leave with only our souls. Our souls are not our minds. Our minds are only concerned with survival on earth. The Soul belongs to God and the Soul will give an account of our life here on earth to God. Our Souls will be our answer books. Do we want to pass the test to enter into Eternal Life?
The time is definitely now to make changes in our life. The result will be two-fold. We will leave in a peaceful world for the short time we are here on earth, and we will live forever in God's Kingdom.

Education without Religion is merely a galvanized corpse.

Dr. A.M. Khan was born in the year 1905 in Trinidad and Tobago. It was a forbidding society in which young Andrew lived. Being the son of indentured immigrants, albeit liberated, helped little to relieve his difficulties. Yet, he propelled into a great scholar and was recognized by the Trinidad and Tobago Government for his excellent work as a teacher and a Head Teacher, and was granted a scholarship to pursue Post Primary methods in the United Kingdom. He achieved success after success with incredible frequency and distinction, so much so that he soared to the very top of his career and achieved all of his goals. He fathered ten children who all excelled in their own careers. Dr. Khan was God -fearing and the type of person who believed in preparation. Readers will be amazed to know what his family found in a desk drawer upon his death.
This is a story from which many lessons can be learnt.

The following is an extract of a sermon which Dr. Andrew Moonir Khan preached in the Marabella Presbyterian Church in Trinidad in 1973:-

" You are indeed fortunate, extremely fortunate I should say, to enjoy the blessing which a benevolent state has bestowed upon you, her children – a free education. To you have been given freely that which great men of the past have obtained only with many sacrifices and much labour. Will you then be “the whining school boy or girl” spoken of by the poet “with his satchel and shining morning face, creeping unwillingly to school?” Or will you be enthusiastically looking forward to attending school with a zest and zeal born out of the knowledge that your entire future depends on your regular and punctual attendance at school, and a program of systematic studies.
Never had life afforded such channels for culture, knowledge, influence, and power, as now. Going to school was never more prevalent in any of the cities of the ancient world as now. The privileged people of the world are relatively few, speaking from a comparative point of view. You students are very lucky to be among the favoured few to be placed in the Garden of God in a manner of speaking. But the Garden of God is not only a place of opportunity but also a place of work and more work.
Even Adam had to work in primitive Eden. He was put in Eden “to dress and keep it.” He was not simply to lie down and laze under the trees and have a good time. You students are there in the Garden of God. I tell you, Eden means work. Kevin Ganga, 1971 Jerningham Gold Medalist and Scholarship winner said, “I worked hard to succeed.” Unless you want to work, success will elude you and you will be a dropout, and you certainly do not wish to be that.
If you make up your mind to work hard at your studies you will have no time to do foolish things to spoil the reputation of your school, because every student has the reputation of his school very much in his hands. Revolution is a twentieth century reality. The question facing us is which revolution. We must choose the revolution that values persons, that talks on basic issues in our society. The Church needs a revolution within itself.
There were no street demonstrations, mass rallies, brick and bottle throwing, fire bombings, and more recently dynamite explosions, when every student had the firm and unshakable conviction that his school was the best school of all. There were no crises in the classroom then.
What is the great aim of education which everyone seems to want so badly? Character formation is the great aim of education. Character is essential to the permanence and prosperity of the State. But character of the moral element is not complete without religion, and Education without religion is merely a galvanized corpse."

Poems to awaken your soul - The Miracle at the Wedding at Cana

POEMS TO AWAKEN YOUR SOUL This poem is taken from the section "Poems to Awaken your Soul" at the back of :Your Time is Now":

THE MIRACLE AT THE WEDDING AT CANA [John Chapter 2; 1-12]

Jesus attended a wedding celebration with his mother.
The wine supply ran out at this wedding in Cana.
Jesus’ mother turned to Jesus for help.
But Jesus replied that his time had not come yet.

His mother left it up to Jesus and told the servants to assist.
Six large stone water pots were standing there in the midst.
Jesus told the servants to fill them with water to the brim.
The servants did what he said and listened to him.

When the jars had been filled Jesus told the servants to dip.
And take some to the master of ceremonies” and they followed his tip.
The master of ceremonies tasted the wine and remarked to the host.
“You have saved the best wine for last. You are a great host.’

When I wrote this poem I had not yet visited Paris and The Louvre Museum of Paintings. I visited Paris in August 2014 and I was thrilled to see that there was a painting of "The Wedding Feast at Cana" by Italian Painter Paolo Veronese. It was the largest painting in the Louvre. I bought a copy.

This is what is stated in the records at The Louvre: "

In 1553, Veronese was summoned to Venice where he gave free rein to his decorative talent in vast canvases that blended masterful composition, splendid contemporary costumes, and luminous colors. The Wedding Feast at Cana graced the refectory designed by Palladio for the Benedictine monastery on the Venetian island of San Giorgio Maggiore. With masterly freedom of interpretation, Veronese transposed the biblical episode to the sumptuous setting of a Venetian wedding." For those of you who do not know the Biblical story of this event I quote from a write-up by the Louvre, Paris below: "A biblical scene within a Venetian banquet In Cana, Galilee, Christ is invited to a wedding feast during which he performs his first miracle. At the end of the banquet, when the wine is running low, he asks the servants to fill the stone jars with water and then offer them to the master of the house, who finds that the water has been turned to wine. This episode, told by the Apostle John, is a precursor of the Eucharist. The bride and groom are seated at the left end of the table, leaving the center place to the figure of Christ. He is surrounded by the Virgin, his disciples, clerks, princes, Venetian noblemen, Orientals in turbans, several servants, and the populace. Some figures are dressed in traditional antique costumes, while others—the women in particular—wear sumptuous coiffures and adornments. Veronese depicts, with apparent ease, no less than 130 feast-goers, mixing biblical figures with men and women of the period. The latter are not really identifiable, although according to an 18th-century legend, the artist himself is depicted in white with a viola da gamba next to Titian and Bassano, all of whom contribute to the musical entertainment. The bearded master of ceremonies could be Aretino, whom Veronese greatly admired. Several dogs, birds, a parakeet, and a cat frolic amidst the crowd.

A Most Embarassing Moment in my Life

The following is an extract from my book "My Life as a Banker - A life Worth Living"

It was one of the most embarrassing moments in my life.
The incident happened after a most wonderful vacation in Orlando.

"We then went to Miami where we spent a few days in a hotel so that we could do some shopping. On the day we were about to return home we were awakened at four o’clock in the morning by the loud ringing of the fire alarm. We heard other hotel guests shouting, “Fire! Fire!’ We jumped off our beds and started panicking. I grabbed all of our passports and tickets and left everything else in the room. We ran out the room and followed some other guests down the fire escape. When we finally got to the bottom of the stairs we saw everyone staring at us. They said it was a false alarm but they still kept staring at us. I suddenly realized that I was in a long see-through night-gown with all the passports and tickets in my hand. My husband was in his short pants and my sister and the children were in their night clothes too. My daughter who was just five years old was hiding behind me and she said that she saw everyone staring at us through my night-gown. We rushed back to our rooms in embarrassment, and although it was rather early we got dressed immediately and went to the airport to await our flight back home."

Read about it in my book.
