A New Year will soon dawn upon us.

We’re still haunted by Coronavirus.

But let's not allow it to rule our lives.

Let’s take precautions and be wise.

My Happy New Year dream for you,

Is for a year filled with joy so true.

Where life is peaceful and free from stress,

And what one wants, one always gets.

I wish for you a year you can cherish,

With great memories, you’ll forever relish,

A life filled with bright expectancies.

Happiness galore, and pure ecstasy.

Let’s send out 2020 with a bang.

Some say sentence 2020 to hang.

There were too many unnecessary deaths.

It’s time to bring back Old Year’s fetes.

As writers, let us continue to use our pens,

To write about things of relevance.

Bring out the fireworks, let’s celebrate.

And welcome 2021 with hope and faith.

MISTAKES WRITERS MAKE

 

Many writers believe that after publishing their books they can sit back and relax and readers will rush to buy their books. If readers do not know about their books how can they buy them?

Writers must learn to market their books to forums and places that are frequented by readers who are looking for good books to read. They must also be prepared to spend money on book promotions.

Another mistake writers make is to only publish the paperback version. While it is a known fact that paperback sales exceed those of kindle, kindle sales can cause your book to top the ranks on Amazon, become a bestseller, and pave the way for your paperback sales.

It is always advisable to do both paperback and Kindle versions.

The third mistake writers make is in determining categories. Some writers are using categories that do not match the content of their books.

For instance, a poetry book described in the blurb as romantic poetry, or, an Anthology of adult poems should not be categorized as Children's Literature. 

There could be repercussions if a parent looks at the category only, and buy such books as presents for their children, only to realize they are for adults. Amazon has a section below each book to report such issues.

THE SUCCESS OF HOW TO WRITE FOR SUCCESS LITERARY FORUM

 

                        

The book HOW TO WRITE FOR SUCCESS was published on my birthday 1^st December 2017.

It was not planned that way. It just happened. I started writing ‘How to Write for Success’ just after I had published Zeeka Chronicles in February 2017. Because of the resounding success of Zeeka Chronicles. I decided to share with new and aspiring authors how to write a best-selling and award-winning book. I was hesitant to publish the book as I was unsure how well it would be received by other authors. I finally published it and it was live on Amazon on 1^st December 2017. Was that a coincidence that it was live on my birthday?

In January 2018, one month after the book How to Write for Success was published, Readers Favorite gave it a five-star review. It also garnered several more five-star reviews. That inspired me to start the Literary Forum HOW TO WRITE FOR SUCCESS on 5^th February 2018.

I had no idea at that time what direction the forum would take. We had few members and at first, I felt that we were not achieving much. However, with our innovative ideas, we grew by leaps and bounds.

I will list the successes hereunder:

Feb.2019 – With 49 co-authors, A Spark of Hope: A Treasury of Poems for Saving Lives Volume 1 was published.

Feb. 2020 – With 64 co-authors, A Spark of Hope: A Treasury of Poems for Saving Lives Volume 2 was published.

Both books topped the charts on Amazon and made Best Seller No. 1 within the space of a few days.

March 5^th 2020 - Together with 87 co-authors, the Forum also published a ground-breaking Anthology, Break the Silence: An Anthology Against Domestic Violence.

The book contained an article by the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Trinidad, Right Reverend Joy Abdul-Mohan. The Anthology topped the charts of Amazon in a few days and became an Amazon bestseller No 1

The sub-forums Poems for Suicide Prevention, Poems Against  Domestic Violence, and Library of How to Write for Success were established thereafter.

 Literary Network was published in Feb.2021.

On 8th June 2021, BREAK THE SILENCE: VOLUME 2 coauthored by 91 authors was published and attained the rank of an Amazon No 1 bestseller in Poetry Anthologies, Inspirational and Religious Poetry, and a No 1 Hot new release.
