Stories People Love

It is amazing to see the imaginative mind of the author, Brenda Mohammed, who tells these so true to life tales.
These are indeed stories that people will love to read -some fiction and some truthful.
The Headmaster's Daughter dates back to the 1950';s. This story gives an excellent idea of how life was lived during those days. The strict Headmaster was feared by everyone but love conquered all in the end. Children obeyed their parents no matter what. Education was the goal of many and Paul in spite of having to leave his love behind went ahead to further his studies. That caused great admiration for him and when he returned to ask for Marie's hand in marriage, her father readily agreed. Marie's dream had come true, True love and further education were brought to her door.
This is indeed a remarkable story and should be read by everyone who believes love conquers all and there is always a whispering hope in the air.
Travel Dreams of Yesterday is an exciting, true story of two girls travelling abroad for the first time. This story gives details of all the fun and adventures they had and the many challenges faced and how they were overcome. Their beautiful memories stay with them always.
The author has even included a poem about this first travel abroad.
The Dirtiest of all Evils; tells the story of murder, a change from her other stories. It is nail-biting and grips you with fear and anxiety. Belief in God changed the entire plot. Read why Mark was set free.

'The Moral of this story is to never give up on your dreams.' - author Brenda Mohammed.

With a title like Stories People Love,, this book already had a lot to live up to. As I read each of the four short stories in turn, the change from fiction to non-fiction made reading this collection all the more pleasurable.

As a bit of a travel fiend myself, the stand out story for me is Travel Dreams of Yesterday. The author writes this so well that you really feel you are journeying along with her.

Is it a spoiler to say each story is a heart warming one (a reference to one of the author's other works) ?

I don't think so. Each element of the collection's opener, A Headmaster's Daughter, twists and turns and demands that you keep reading.

The Dirtiest of All Evils is intriguing as a murder mystery and seems initially out of place. But reading the stories again, it feels a good fit.

This is a neat and extremely readable collection and shows an author who is able to write fiction and non-fiction elements seamlessly. It's not an easy combination and yet the author pulls it off admirably.

In "Stories People Love", the author combines several genres in one collection.

My favorite story of the collection is "The Headmaster's Daughter". It is a beautiful, finely developed tale that deals with the romance of Marie and Paul in the 1950's. After some setbacks in their relationship, they finally marry proving to all that love always triumphs.

"The Dirtiest of All Evils" is shorter but exciting in its own way. Mark almost confesses to a murder he did not commit because he believes he is protecting his brother. The true details of the crime eventually emerge and vindicate Mark.

"Travel Dreams of Yesterday" relates the author's journey, with her friend Sylvia, to New York, Toronto, London, Germany, and Holland. It is a detailed chronicle of their wonderful experiences and safe return home.

Typical of the style of the author, these stories are easy to read and understand. The common thread that unites each piece in this collection is hope. The theme running through each story is that with hope and faith, nothing can ever go wrong. It is a theme that can be found in all of the author's work. I highly recommend this book.

EDITOR'S NOTE

"This Story, 'Resurrection: Revenge of Zeeka Book 5' is the final episode in the Zeeka stories written by Mrs. Brenda Mohammed. The Book is based on the return of someone who people thought was a "Zombie." It makes for interesting and inspiring reading. Once you start reading, you have to continue to the end. The author's imagination is extremely wide and vivid and she really gives you an exciting glimpse of what the future could possibly turn out to be- with beautiful robots for housekeepers, companions, and security, and a device to cure diseases of the brain without any surgical incisions. What a great future we can envisage in this story!!!
This proves to be a wonderful ending to a trilogy of stories. It was great to know that Nieman, his new name, was cured of his disease.
Every Chapter of the Book is well- written with use of entertaininglanguage and I congratulate the author on her brilliance and her psychic lookinto the future."

If you have not read the other books in the series, I urge you to do so now.

My Review of the year 2016

On looking back at the year 2016, I have realized that I never achieved my original goals. However, things turned out much better for me.
I had expected to give up writing and continue to travel the world. My husband and I had planned to join my sister and her husband in their annual travels.
London, Scotland, and Amsterdam were the intended destinations. My husband fell ill, and plans were cancelled. My sister, her husband, and family travelled to those places as scheduled and I was disappointed.
I did not sit at home idly, however. I revised some of my books, changed the covers, and published them on other platforms like Nook, Kobo, Apple, Page Foundry, Scribd, 24 Symbols, and Tolino.
I even won an award from Metamorph Publishing for my memoir, 'A Life as a Banker" A Life worth Living.' It was voted second in the Category Bio/Memoirs in the Metamorph Publishing Summer Indie Book Awards 2016.
Two other books were nominated by my fans for those awards.
They are 'Retirement is Fun: A new Chapter, and 'Revenge of Zeeka: Horror Trilogy."

In early January I had suddenly got an idea after reading the daily newspapers and proceeded to write a new Series.

I wrote the following:
Revenge of Zeeka: Zeeka and the Zombies published February 2016.
Revenge of Zeeka: Zeeka’s Child published in March 2016.
Revenge of Zeeka: Zeeka Returns published in April 2016.

I never expected them to be such a success, but the reviews were very good.
I combined those three books into one – Revenge of Zeeka: Horror Trilogy and sent it to Readers Favorite International for a free review.
To my surprise, the book received a five-star review and a five- star seal on September 10th 2016.

Here is the review

“In Revenge of Zeeka by Brenda Mohammed, the island of Gosh is under attack by an army of zombies under the command of a vengeful science genius. In the year 2016, the Zika virus broke out in Central and South America with life-threatening effects for pregnant women. Given a choice to save the mothers or the unborn babies, a decision was made to save the mothers. The tiny stillborns were securely and secretly buried.
Only a few people knew of this. Unknown to everyone, however, a certain scientist managed to get hold of all 51 bodies, bring them back to life, and condition them to follow his command, creating himself a perfect army of zombies. Now, twenty years later, the evil scientist seeks revenge on those he holds responsible for the stillbirths. Only three of the current doctors at Central Hospital - Raynor, Mark, and George - witnessed the unfortunate events of 2016. The three have strong suspicions about who might be controlling the zombies. Meanwhile, Zeeka is lying in wait for the perfect time to unleash his army onto the island. Zeeka has big, evil plans and this is just the beginning. In a desperate search for answers, and with very little to go on, the doctors search for the elusive Master Zeeka.
Will they save the islanders from Zeeka and his zombies, or will it be too late?

Revenge of Zeeka, by Brenda Mohammed, is a one of a kind novella trilogy that delivers an incredible story guaranteed to give readers an absolute sci-fi treat. I especially liked how Brenda used current events as the pivotal point from which to build this amazing sci-fi horror. This made the story even more relatable.
More importantly, however, I admired how she owned her story and created this captivating version of events. She captured with amazing depth the setting, characters, plot, and emotions in such few words. If you are looking for a thrilling short read, this fast-paced, sci-fi action novella will give you the time of your life.”

This review gave me encouragement to finish writing the fourth book in the series ‘Zeeka’s Ghost’. I had started it in June 2016 but was unable to finish it. I eventually completed it and released it on 9th October 2016.

ZEEKA'S GHOST has also been receiving favorable reviews.
My husband's health improved and we visited my daughter and her family in Miami in July 2016, and spent a wonderful week with them in Orlando at the fabulous Reunion Resort.
I did not achieve my original goals for 2016, but it turned out to be an incredible year so far. It was indeed a productive and successful year.

Adventures of Squeaky Doo' written by Brenda Mohammed is an exciting number of stories detailing the wonderfully exciting adventures of a teddy bear that accompanies its owner on every trip story at home or abroad. This collection consists of five stories narrated in the first person by Squeaky Doo, a teddy bear owned by a little girl named Marge. Marge lives with her younger brother and parents in Miami. However, except for the first story which takes place on a beach in Miami, all the other stories are set in different locations. The tales describe adventures in Los Angeles, Orlando, on a cruise trip, and in the author's native island, Trinidad. Squeaky Doo accompanies Marge as her family, including her grandparents, vacation in these different places. He gets lost in each story and, fortunately for him, is always rescued and reunited with Marge.

Squeaky Doo is an observant bear who never misses any detail of the family's activities. He gives vivid descriptions of a warm and loving family of which he is proud to be a part. Children will surely fall in love with this likable teddy bear and will want to read about all of his adventures. The perspective of the teddy bear makes the stories easy to read and will encourage youngsters of all ages to keep reading to find out what will happen next to Squeaky Doo.
