FIVE- STAR BOOK REVIEW FOR BEAUTY OF POETRY

FIVE-STAR BOOK REVIEW FOR BEAUTY OF POETRY

Dear Readers.
I received a wonderful Five-Star Review from Florabelle Lutchman for my New Release, BEAUTY OF POETRY, on Goodreads.
Here is the Review:

"Beauty of Poetry!!
What an apt name the Author, Brenda Mohammed, gave to this book, her sixtieth!!!
The book is filled with exceptionally written poems that come straight from the heart.
They are of different genres and all are artistically written, dealing with many of her personal feelings and experiences.
The poet says, ”Poetry is in my thoughts and my dreams.”
She writes because of her intense love for poetry. A reader could easily discern such from reading each poem. Once you start you can never put the book down.
She writes about Love saying as we all know, “Love is the greatest virtue of all.” There are a few other poems on Love. Then she goes on to write of her travels to London, Venice, Rome, and numerous other places she visited with family.
What is most striking about this “Beauty” however, are the religious poems contained in the book - Jesus cleansing the temple, the unconditional love God has for us-” God first loved us and wants us to love Him too.”
If you do not as yet know Christ read “Who is Jesus Christ?” The Lenten Season and Holy Week are also specifically dealt with.
Family Values and poems on cancer appeal to the reader. The Author is a cancer survivor and she writes, “As a cancer survivor for eighteen years, it breaks my heart,
When close relatives and friends from this disease depart.”
Please obtain a copy of this book and read it to your heart’s content. You will never regret it. As a matter of fact, you will consider it a joy immeasurable."
Florabelle Lutchman

The Book was an Amazon No 1 New Release for more than a week.
Readers can get the Book on Amazon at http://Author.to/BCM786
PLease write a review on Amazon or Goodreads and I will publish it on this blog.

BEAUTY OF POETRY

BEAUTY OF POETRY

#Newrelease

BEAUTY OF POETRY –  60th Publication of Brenda Mohammed.

The Beauty of Poetry written by Author Brenda Mohammed is filled with poems of various genres separated by picturesque posters before every genre.

She has penned poems on love, nature, world icons, world monuments, peace, motivational poems, and Christian life.

As a cancer survivor, she has dedicated a section for persons fighting cancer, surviving cancer, or lost loved ones because of this dread disease.

The book is easy to read as readers can read his/her favourite genres in the order they prefer.

The famous English poet John Keats said, “An object of beauty gives us perennial joy. Beauty never fades and is not devalued.  A thing of beauty is a joy forever and it makes us forget the sorrows and sufferings of the world.”

Keats also conceptualized beauty as truth and truth as beauty. He said, “Beauty is truth, truth beauty that is all ye know on earth, and all ye need to know. Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard are sweeter.”

Another famous English poet, William Wordsworth said, “Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words. Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks. Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquillity.”

All the above describes the beautiful poetry in the book, and what makes it special.

It will be a beautiful asset to your library.

The book is on Amazon in Kindle Version and Paperback.

A REVIEW OF SOOTHING POETRY BY THE SPANISH TRANSLATOR

EDITORIAL REVIEW BY THE TRANSLATOR
In this collection, SOOTHING POETRY IN SPANISH and ENGLISH, written by Brenda Mohammed, the author includes poems on a variety of topics.
She writes about love, dreams, hopes, family, and the pandemic in which we find ourselves today.
My favourite poem is "The Personal Benefits of Lockdown" because, in this poem, the author manages to see the positive aspects of these terrible times and can appreciate the good that the pandemic has brought out in various family members.
She points out the hope in the hopeless and the importance of not despairing in a time of darkness.
As implied in the poem, there is always light at the end of the tunnel and it is important to carry on with our lives.
The author's optimism is also apparent in the other poems in the collection.
She pens her thoughts on various subjects like making mistakes, women's role in society, human companionship, and the importance of nature and our surroundings.
In one of her poems, she also gives great advice on how to live life to the fullest.
Throughout the poems, the author displays a deep insight into life and experiences that we all encounter in our day-to-day existence.
She attempts to place these everyday experiences into an inspiring collection that makes for comforting reading during these difficult times.
They are written simply and with feeling as the author muses on all types of situations, no matter how banal they may seem.
The author uses material that is not usually poetic and turns them into poetry. Her work depicts an extraordinary observation of normal, simple occurrences. She has the skill of making the mundane poetic.
One example is when she talks about friends sharing a recipe and experiencing a joyous time.
Another example is the poem that talks about her favourite chair.
The chair seems so inviting that it begins to adopt human qualities.
In short, the poems in this compilation are didactic, fun to read, and full of hope and insight.
The collection has interests for every reader and I would recommend the poems as enjoyable reading to help us reflect on our everyday experiences.
The observant eye of the author makes us look afresh at human nature and what we need to experience a true sense of satisfaction in this life.
The theme of optimism runs throughout the collection.

EDITORIAL REVIEW
"The Gift of Love, written by Mrs. BrendaMohammed is a most exciting and interesting mystery/romance set in the beautiful Caribbean island of Trinidad.
When you begin to read this story of true love -first for a beloved father and next for a first love, you will keep on reading to the end to know the outcome of the young lovers.
The book gives us an insight into greed, bribery, and kidnapping by a heartless man.
The heroine in the story never gave up although she was considered insane by those she knew well. She was consistently told by all including her husband that she never had a child.
Her only resort was to turn to her first love for help in locating her lost daughter. After five years it was a shock to the hero to hear his beloved's voice and he actually "went running" to her after securing leave from his job. He left no stone unturned in finding the beloved little girl and received the most wonderful surprise of his life.
Do you want some excitement? Just read this story. It is definitely a treat for lovers of romance and mystery.
I enjoyed reading it and highly recommend it to other readers."

Here is the latest five-star review on Amazon UK for the revised book:

Brenda Mohammed is a versatile and gifted writer and this collection of stories allows her talent to shine. Each story is beautifully written with touches of humour to make you smile. The subtext to the stories makes the reader think and adds a sense of value to each tale. The variety is also impressive and I dare say Brenda Mohammed could turn her hand to any genre.
In a collection, everyone will have their own favourite.
For me, that would be The Psychiatrist and the Thief, but all the stories have great merit and are well worth reading.

Great little set of short stories all inspirational. Love, life, and loyalty. Great for a Sunday afternoon.

A great little collection that will make you think (especially if you are a travel fan like me!)
Format: Paperback
'The Moral of this story is to never give up on your dreams.'
With a title like Stories People Love,, this book already had a lot to live up to. As I read each of the four short stories in turn, the change from fiction to non-fiction made reading this collection all the more pleasurable.
As a bit of a travel fiend myself, the standout story for me is Travel Dreams of Yesterday.
The author writes this so well that you really feel you are journeying along with her.
Is it a spoiler to say each story is a heartwarming one (a reference to one of the author's other works)?
I don't think so.
Each element of the collection's opener, A Headmaster's Daughter, twists and turns and demands that you keep reading.
The Dirtiest of All Evils is intriguing as a murder mystery and seems initially out of place. But reading the stories again, it feels a good fit.
This is a neat and extremely readable collection and shows an author who is able to write fiction and non-fiction elements seamlessly.
It's not an easy combination and yet the author pulls it off admirably.

Arabella Persaud
5.0 out of 5 stars
A collection of stories, poems and an informative article all connected by the common theme of hope

Format: Paperback
In Stories People Love, the author combines several genres in one collection.: a romance story, a murder mystery, a travel chronicle, an advice piece, and some poetry. The work consists of two fictional stories, a narration of a true-life adventure, some thoughts on the advantages of buying insurance, and four poems.

My favorite story of the collection is "The Headmaster's Daughter". It is a beautiful, finely developed tale that deals with the romance of Marie and Paul in the 1950's. After some setbacks in their relationship, they finally marry proving to all that love always triumphs.

"The Dirtiest of All Evils" is shorter but exciting in its own way. Mark almost confesses to a murder he did not commit because he believes he is protecting his brother. The true details of the crime eventually emerge and vindicate Mark.

"Travel Dreams of Yesterday" relates the author's journey, with her friend Sylvia, to New York, Toronto, London, Germany, and Holland. It is a detailed chronicle of their wonderful experiences and safe return home.

Typical of the style of the author, these stories are easy to read and understand. The common thread that unites each piece in this collection is hope. The theme running through each story is that with hope and faith, nothing can ever go wrong. It is a theme that can be found in all of the author's work. I highly recommend this book.

Positive reading
Format: Kindle Edition
This book is brilliantly filled with stories and poems that are easy to read and which also contains valuable life information. They range from fiction to non-fictional stories as well as poems, which are artfully written to provide a positive reading experience.

The book is available at Amazon Universal Link.

Here is the first chapter from She Cried For Me.

Chapter One

What are you doing here, dog?” he shouted. I cringed as I saw the broom raised in his hand. It came crashing down but I darted away for cover under the steps. He came after me and I lay crouched in the lowest part of the area where he could not get at me. He stooped to glare at me and blurted out, “When I get back home tonight be gone from here. Do you hear me, dog? I cannot afford to buy myself a proper meal, far less feed you. For your own sake leave, or I will kill you.”
I heard from my master those last words. I was scared to death. I was just sitting on the lawn. I was not disturbing him. Why did he hate me? Where would I go? I was born there.
My mother gave birth to my brothers and me under those steps where I lay. My master’s wife who loved us and took care of us passed away one month ago. My mother died of starvation two weeks after my master’s wife died. He gave away my brothers to two of his friends.
I recall that day. His friends came to visit him and they started drinking and behaving raucously. They were also smoking something, which smelt awful.
Late at night, three of them stumbled out of the house. They looked at us as we huddled together on the ground. We were hungry and expected dinner. My master threw some scraps of bread on the ground. They turned to leave.
One of them turned around and asked my master, “My son has been asking for a pet. Can I have that one?” He pointed to my brother. He was better looking than I was. In fact, both my brothers were better looking than I was. I am a girl but I was scrawny looking because I lacked proper care and nutrition.
“You can have all three,” he said. ”My wife loved pets but I have no time for them. To me, they are bloody nuisances.”
“I will take one for my son too,” said the other man. He stood for a while looking at us, glancing from one to the other. I hoped that one of them would take me away and feed me. I started thinking how nice it would be to be the pet of a little boy. It was not to be. In the blink of an eye, they took up my brothers and walked off with them. I was alone. My master looked at me and said, “No one wants you, dog. I am stuck with you.” I felt abandoned. I did not even have a name. He addressed me as ‘dog’ each time.
For days, he did not feed me. Luckily, for me, the little girl next door would throw me a few sausages when she was feeding her dogs. She was very kind, and her dogs came close to the fence to keep my company.
When my master was at home, he would sweep the yard and threaten me with the broom. At times, he would hit me with the broom and I would run off howling in pain. It was becoming unbearable to live there anymore.

See One of the latest Five Star Review

Fun and fear-filled fables for a modern audience
By Kato's Revenge on January 15, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
This is the second collection of stories I have read in a row. This author is new to me so it is interesting to pick up this writer's particular 'voice' and over the course of this book, it comes across well.

Her Online Predator is perhaps the best of a strong bunch of stories, with Marriage On the Rocks a close second (though the male character Roberto was a little too subservient to his wife for my liking). The Undertaker's Wife has a wonderful underlying plot - we can probably see what is coming before the end, and its cool to see the MC freaking out along the way, before the big reveal is made.

All the stories are well written and readable. The stories are different from each other and make for interesting reading. Recommended.
