READERS FAVORITE PRESS RELEASE FOR CHOSEN BY THE CREATOR

READERS' FAVORITE PRESS RELEASE FOR CHOSEN BY THE CREATOR

For immediate release:

Author's new book receives a warm literary welcome.
Readers' Favorite announces the review of the Christian - Non-Fiction book "Chosen By The Creator" by Brenda Mohammed, currently available at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B14G4FDB.
Readers' Favorite is one of the largest book review and award contest sites on the Internet. They have earned the respect of renowned publishers like Random House, Simon & Schuster, and Harper Collins, and have received the "Best Websites for Authors" and "Honoring Excellence" awards from the Association of Independent Authors. They are also fully accredited by the BBB (A+ rating), which is a rarity among Book Review and Book Award Contest companies.
"Reviewed By Lois Henderson for Readers' Favorite
Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories by Brenda Mohammed is aimed at helping the reader trace the line of descendants as far back as to the beginning of mankind, with the story of Adam and Eve. Mohammed, who is a firm believer in the fact that “the Bible is God’s biography written by his chosen ones,” explains, with the help of quotations from the Bible, how the contents of each of its books relate to the whole. Mohammed ends Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories with additional material that provides true value for the reader, including the importance of having our names written down in the Book of Life; the text of her favorite two Psalms, 23 and 121 (which is my favorite, too) and a conclusion, confirming her desire (which she has successfully fulfilled) to write a story of God’s chosen ones from each book in both the Old and the New Testament.
I love the way, Brenda Mohammed, in her work Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories, affirms her desire that the stories she retells in accessible and straightforward language will convince the reader of the genuineness and authenticity of their source in divine will. For any newcomer to the Bible, Mohammed’s clear and simple explanation of the primary focus of each book is illuminating. Her earnest and heartfelt urging that “all God wants from us is obedience” is a resounding call to us to listen to the word of God and to obey. In short, Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories is a wonderful supplement to the Bible, although, as Mohammed clearly states, it is certainly no replacement for it."

Gold Award Winner in Emagazine Readers Choice 2018 - Zeeka Chronicles: Revenge of Zeeka

The results are out. I am so excited.
A very big Thank You to all who voted.
Zeeka Chronicles: Revenge of Zeeka is the Gold Winner in Emagazine Readers Choice Awards 2018 in the Category Science Fiction and Fantasy.
This is the second award received by Zeeka Chronicles since it was published in 2017.
In 2017 the book won a bronze award in the category science fiction from Metamorph Publishing.
In addition, Readers Favorite gave it a five-star review and five-star seal in September 2017.
Here is a mini-critique of the book by EMagazine:
INTRO: Good futuristic setup, interesting book, and compelling characters.

CHARACTER/WORLD BUILDING: Great world development, Readers are introduced to a tropical beach with robots and confusion, or is it a hallucination?

COVER DESIGN: great contrasing colours, genre specific.

PRESENTATION: Professionally edited.

Why I wrote Zeeka Chronicles: Revenge of Zeeka.

I wrote this book to highlight the fact that improvement in modern technology and scientific improvements in the medical field can never improve the minds of individuals.
The book is set in the year 2036 when there is a great advancement in medical and information technology.
It is a high-tech world.
Robots act as home helpers and police use high tech weaponry, electric cars, and smartphones.
The hospitals are well equipped with state of the art equipment and doctors and scientists are making significant breakthroughs and inventing cures for patients with critical illnesses.
Yet, in that high-tech world, the minds of human beings did not change.
Can Mankind ever achieve a sinless state?
Will human beings forever continue to foster greed, malice, anger, jealousy, and the desire to control and take revenge?
When I was born, there was no electricity and therefore no refrigerators, air-conditioning, televisions, telephones, and amenities in our homes like we have today.
Education was not even a priority and there were not many schools and universities.
Today, in spite of all the new and advanced developments, crime has increased to unstoppable levels.
What will change humanity?
Modern inventions and new technology will never change the evil minds of men.
In the book of John 3: Verse 7, Jesus said, “Ye must be born again.”

About the book

Zeeka Chronicles is about a vengeful man who misuses science for revenge in the year 2036 to create havoc in a small exotic island named Gosh.
He is angry for two reasons.
After his former lover jilted him, he married another on rebound.
His wife contracted the zika virus when she was pregnant.
His child was born deformed as a result, and his wife died.
He blamed the hospital for her death and his deformed child.
This vengeful man kidnapped the son of his former lover and the story evolves thereafter.

My Favourite Character.

Dr. Steven Sharpe is my favorite character in Zeeka Chronicles.
One fateful day, when Steven was just seven years old, he was riding his bike home after visiting a friend who lived in a secluded part of the city.
His bike broke down, and he was trying to fix it.
A police jeep stopped, and the police officer asked if he could help.
There was no one else in the vehicle.
Steven saw no harm in allowing a police officer to help since they are there to protect and serve.
Or, so he thought.
The police officer came out of the vehicle, looked at his bike, turned it over and tried to repair it.
He then told Steven that it needed to go to a bicycle shop.
He offered to drive Steven home.
Steven trusted the police officer, accepted the lift, and never saw his home and family again.
The police officer, who turned out to be Zeeka, threatened the boy to kill his parents and brother if he ever tried to escape from him.
He boasted about his police connections and Steven was fearful of him and did whatever he asked.
The man could not legally adopt him and changed the boy’s name to Jason Stephens.
He sent him to medical school and he turned out to be the top medical doctor and research scientist on the island of Gosh.
Zeeka tried to use him for evil means.
Dr. Steven Sharpe knew all of Zeeka’s secrets.

Who are the primary readers of your book?

I wrote the book for both mature audiences and young adults.
The book contains five stories in the series, which are being sold separately.

Why should readers buy it?

The benefits to readers are the underlying lessons to be learned from the content, as well as a saving on both paperback and kindle versions. Instead of paying for the five books in the series, it will cost cheaper to buy one book.

How long did it take to write it?

The series took me one year to write.

How did you come up with the title?

I used the name Zeeka because it is the name of the main character and the close relation to the zika virus.

Why did you choose this cover?

My cover designer, Sharon Brownlie, generously donated the cover.
She gives away three covers annually.
I just happened to see her post about it on Facebook and contacted her immediately for the one I used for this book.
The cover depicts the story.

What do you want to say to your readers?

I do hope that you enjoy it and will leave a review.

Author Spotlight with Brenda Mohammed

Short Bio

Brenda, a multi-genre author, lives on the beautiful tropical island of Trinidad in the Caribbean.
A former Bank Manager and Insurance Professional, she turned to writing after she retired from the corporate world.
Brenda loves to travel. She has written sixteen books to date: six memoirs, one children's book, four short story collections, and a horror
series of five books.

When choosing a name for your characters, what do you consider about them that determines what you finally call them?

I think about the role I have planned for my characters before I name them.
For instance, in one of my books, Revenge of Zeeka – A Trilogy, I introduced a female robot and named her Miranda.
One reviewer could not help but refer to her in his review.“The highlight is Miranda (oh, Miranda!), whose presence gives a lot of weight and realism to the futuristic theme and setting of 2036.”

Did you have a collection in mind when you were writing them?

I wrote four collections of short stories. “Heart- Warming Tales,” “Stories People Love,” “Revenge of Zeeka – A Trilogy,”
and "Zeeka Chronicles."
At first I wrote several stories as kindle short reads, but later on, I put all the stories into the above books.

How did you choose which stories to include and in what order?

The first collection, “Heart-Warming Tales,” are four stories based on real life events.
One reviewer had this to say about the book,“Heart Warming Tales is a short book of stories with intriguing plots and pleasant characters. Although each story is set within the real world, there seems to be a fantastical quality to each. The style of the writing is satisfyingly simple and easy to follow.”

The second collection, “Stories People Love” contains four short stories of crime, adventure, and love.

A reviewer referred to this book as “a collection of stories all connected by the common theme of hope.”
Another said, "This is a neat and extremely readable collection and shows an author who is able to write fiction and non-fiction elements seamlessly. It's not an easy combination and yet the author pulls it off admirably."
The third collection, “Revenge of Zeeka – A Trilogy,” was only released on 4th May 2016.

The story, which is set in the year 2036, was told in three parts, which are also available as Kindle short reads.
The book received a five-star review and five-star seal from Readers favorite in September 2016.
I thought of ending the series at that point, but Zeeka got into my head and I wrote two more books making the number of books in the series five.
That is why, I published Zeeka Chronicles, the fourth collection of short stories.

The series is all about Zeeka, and his intent on revenge for something that occurred twenty years before.

Do you have a “reader” in mind when you write stories?

I write for both young adults and mature audiences.

What do you do to get book reviews? What is the best review you ever got?

I depend on purchasers of my books to do reviews, but that does not always happen.
I had several Free promotions on Amazon Kindle Publishing and had thousands of downloads, but I received no reviews from these promotions.
I received Five Star reviews for most of my books from verified purchasers, and it is hard to say which is the best review I ever got.
However, I do like this review for Zeeka Chronicles as I found it quite perky.

"5.0 out of 5.0 stars

Teens and up will adore this book
By Amazon Reviewer
March 9, 2017
Format: Paperback
I was thrilled to receive my advance copy of this book because it contains all five Zeeka stories, which are among my favorite spooky reads.
This series is about the havoc the sinister Zeeka and his Zombies unleashed on a little island in the Caribbean and the impact on people who live there.
The darker side of humanity is explored with unforeseeable plot twists taking the reader down a sometimes grisly path.
Thankfully, there is light at the end of the tunnel and I eventually emerged with feelings of redemption and satisfaction.
Future tech is highlighted throughout the series making me desire one of the book's robot helpers who does dishes and kicks butt too."

What does the word “story” mean to you?

A story is an account of real or fictitious events.
The plot and characters must be appealing to readers.
When I write, I bear this in mind.

Have any of your books won any awards?

"I am Cancer Free: A Memoir' won the McGrath House Publishing Award in the Category Non-Fiction in November 2016.
The book also received a five-star review and five-star seal from Readers Favorite in February 2017.

My Life as a Banker: A Life worth Living was voted second in Bio/Memoirs in the Metamorph Publishing Summer Indie Book Awards in September 2016.

Retirement is Fun: A New Chapter was also a Nominee in the Metamorph Publishing Summer Indie Book Awards in September 2016.

About Revenge of Zeeka : Horror Trilogy

Reviewed by Faridah Nassozi for Readers' Favorite - Five Stars on 14th Sept. 2016

#Book Review of #RevengeofZeeka from #ReadersFavorite - https://readersfavorite.com/book-review/revenge-of-zeeka

In Revenge of Zeeka by Brenda Mohammed, the island of Gosh is under attack by an army of zombies under the command of a vengeful science genius. In the year 2016, the Zika virus broke out in Central and South America with life-threatening effects for pregnant women. Given a choice to save the mothers or the unborn babies, a decision was made to save the mothers. The tiny stillborns were securely and secretly buried. Only a few people knew of this.
Unknown to everyone, however, a certain scientist managed to get hold of all 51 bodies, bring them back to life, and condition them to follow his command, creating himself a perfect army of zombies. Now, twenty years later, the evil scientist seeks revenge on those he holds responsible for the stillbirths. Only three of the current doctors at Central Hospital - Raynor, Mark, and George - witnessed the unfortunate events of 2016. The three have strong suspicions about who might be controlling the zombies.
Meanwhile, Zeeka is lying in wait for the perfect time to unleash his army onto the island. Zeeka has big, evil plans and this is just the beginning. In a desperate search for answers, and with very little to go on, the doctors search for the elusive Master Zeeka. Will they save the islanders from Zeeka and his zombies, or will it be too late?

Revenge of Zeeka by Brenda Mohammed is a one of a kind novella trilogy that delivers an incredible story guaranteed to give readers an absolute sci-fi treat. I especially liked how Brenda used current events as the pivotal point from which to build this amazing sci-fi horror. This made the story even more relatable. More importantly, however, I admired how she owned her story and created this captivating version of events.
She captured with amazing depth the setting, characters, plot, and emotions in such few words. If you are looking for a thrilling short read, this fast-paced, sci-fi action novella will give you the time of your life.

Review:Revenge of Zeeka: Zeeka and the Zombies Book 1

An intriguing start of a promising series.
5.0 out of 5 stars

By Katerina Sestakovaon May 29, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase

This is a story about a mad scientist who got really mad. We do not learn about him and his motives much in this book since it’s just the first part of the series. Yet Brenda Mohammed shows us the first consequences of his madness in this clever story about a virus outbreak leading to an emergence of strange zombie-like people. The fast pace and amount of action keeps this story thrilling. At the same time, the author manages to give us a glimpse of the main characters’ feelings that do not concern the zombies directly. We can observe a young doctor planning her marriage and her admirer’s disappointment. This seems to be a plot within the main plot, and it makes this story more complex, the characters easier to relate to, which is not easy to achieve in such a short story that is packed with action. Yet there is a final twist that reveals to us that personal lives of the main protagonists may be infected by Zeeka’s influence more than it seems at first glance.
This book leaves many questions unanswered and makes me look forward to reading the sequels. I can even imagine this book as a good movie.

Review of Zeeka Returns (Revenge of Zeeka Book 3)

5.0 out of 5 starsA gloriously gory end to the Zeeka legend.

ByKato's Revenge on April 24, 2016

Format: Kindle Edition

Zeeka Returns is the pleasing third installment in the Zeeka and the Zombies series. What I have observed through reading each tale in sequence is a significant level up in terms of writing style and character development. That is no easy task in a short story format, and given Zeeka Returns is the longest of the three, it should be noted that it is still a short story. One wonders how our antagonist from book one is going to prevail - or not, as the case may be.
Perhaps it is a testament to the author that her main characters are not necessarily the most important ones for me. Book two introduced us to cop duo Wildy and Cole, and their dynamic worked well in Zeeka's Child, it is far better and more realised here. I enjoyed these two and would read on if they were to appear in another series.

The island of Gosh, once such a pleasant idyllic place to live, is now little short of a terror zone, where the threat of a zombie attack has the residents looking like they are going about their normal business, but in truth, they are not - they are scared, and rightly so.

Away from the police manhunt (zombie hunt?) Steve, Raynor and other friends reminisce about old times with hopes that there will be new times ahead for them to enjoy.

Perhaps the best innovation for the story - and befitting one set in the not too distant future, is the very welcome introduction of robot Miranda. Oh I'm sure by 2036 we'll all have one in our homes, but I like this design far better than Paulie's Bot in Rocky IV (1985 seems a very long time ago when I revisit that film). She's introduced as a home help but this is just one layer to her character design, and it's a joy to see her develop.

Ultimately, Zeeka Returns answers the considerable set up given to us in books one and two. Will the now not so mysterious Zeeka pay for his crimes? Will he come willingly, and what will happen to the rogue group of zombies now free to unleash carnage on the island? That's the main question to be answered and readers won't be disappointed with the story's end.

The key characters remain strong with the secondary ones providing functional support to the narrative whilst not overloading the story with
an unnecessary plot diversion. If anything, Zeeka's Return is the tightest of the books in terms of script, so readers won't lose the thread of the story even if they put it down for a while.
However, I would still recommend reading the books in sequence. It's a pleasing, diverting tale that uncovers more subtle layers with successive re-reads.
Nicely done.'

Review of Revenge of Zeeka: Horror Trilogy

The Zeeka virus, zombies, and robots

5.0 out of 5 stars

ByWayne Vernon on August 17, 2016

Format: Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase

'This is a mini trilogy by author Brenda Mohammed. Different niches apply, from sci-fi to romance, from mystery to horror. The editing is top notch, and the language is fit for younger audiences too. Book 1 sets the scene & the intrigue, while books 2 & 3 expand upon it with action and even more intrigue. The reading flow is great as well. Brenda Mohammed had a sheer moment of brilliance when she decided to build her plot around the Zeeka virus. Creative reason at its best.'

Another Review:

The single stories are available in Kindle edition, but the Horror Trilogy is available in both Kindle and Paperback.
The first story Revenge of Zeeka : Zeeka and the Zombies is Permafree on Amazon.
The idea to write this book stemmed from the prevalence of the zika virus in South America and the surrounding islands.
Reviewers picked up on this and I was pleased that they made the connection.
It was my first try at writing a horror series and the reviews were very good.
The Trilogy was nominated for the Metamorph's Publishing Summer Indie Awards 2016 and I felt honoured.
I have selected some of the outstanding five-star reviews so readers can get a clear picture of what the Trilogy is about.

For Readers who love Memoirs :"My Life as a Banker - A Life Worth Living" - Five Star Review

A monument to the author's successful career in banking as she rises from a bank clerk to several managerial positions.
on September 16, 2014
Format: Paperback
"My Life as a Banker" is an autobiographical account of the author's experiences during the thirty nine years of her career in the bank. She sets the stage by talking about her childhood and family and how her early experiences shaped her outlook on life.

Throughout her working life the author always showed extreme devotion to her job and was constantly rewarded with praise, exciting new opportunities and challenges, as well as job promotions. She was able to succeed in her chosen career through sheer hard work and determination accompanied by her natural intelligence. Her achievements were always recognized by her superiors and she was rightfully rewarded. She started out as a bank clerk and eventually rose through the ranks assuming various managerial positions.

The author attributes her success to her faith and belief in God. She would pray for wisdom and guidance every time she faced a challenging situation. Whenever she had a problem, she prayed about it and the problem was miraculously solved. She continually speaks of the influence of God in her life and in the life of her family. The strength of her faith helped her to overcome any diversities that entered her life.

This book is important in its portrayal of life in the author's native country, Trinidad, in the latter part of the twentieth century.
It records some historical events through which the author lived. One such event is the takeover of the government by Muslimeens in 1990 and the scare throughout the country. Other significant events are the changes in the banking system and the bank's attitude to its employees throughout the years. In addition, the book shows how a young, determined girl just out of high school was able to have a highly successful career in the area of her choice and live a fulfilling life.

The book describes not only the author's work, but the fabulous vacations she was able to enjoy during her vacation time.
Her vacations always left her refreshed and ready to face new challenges.

Overall, the author views her life in a positive sense and is appreciative of the wonderful times and good luck she has experienced throughout her career. She is grateful for all the good that has occurred in her life and is thankful to God.
The book is written in a clear and easy to read style and can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
