"Reviewed By Lois Henderson for Readers' Favorite
Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories by Brenda Mohammed is aimed at helping the reader trace the line of descendants as far back as to the beginning of mankind, with the story of Adam and Eve. Mohammed, who is a firm believer in the fact that “the Bible is God’s biography written by his chosen ones,” explains, with the help of quotations from the Bible, how the contents of each of its books relate to the whole. Mohammed ends Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories with additional material that provides true value for the reader, including the importance of having our names written down in the Book of Life; the text of her favorite two Psalms, 23 and 121 (which is my favorite, too) and a conclusion, confirming her desire (which she has successfully fulfilled) to write a story of God’s chosen ones from each book in both the Old and the New Testament.
I love the way, Brenda Mohammed, in her work Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories, affirms her desire that the stories she retells in accessible and straightforward language will convince the reader of the genuineness and authenticity of their source in divine will. For any newcomer to the Bible, Mohammed’s clear and simple explanation of the primary focus of each book is illuminating. Her earnest and heartfelt urging that “all God wants from us is obedience” is a resounding call to us to listen to the word of God and to obey. In short, Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories is a wonderful supplement to the Bible, although, as Mohammed clearly states, it is certainly no replacement for it."

For anyone who has not visited some of these countries,

Author Florabelle Lutchman reviewed A Road Travelled written by Author Brenda Mohammed

I found this wonderful five-star book review of A ROAD TRAVELLED on GOODREADS
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you Florabelle Lutchman.

"Book Review-A Road Travelled by Florabelle Lutchman

“A Road Travelled: Poetry to Delight” is a very apt title for this collection of poems written by the award-winning multi-genre author, Mrs. Brenda Mohammed. This is her twenty-fifth published book and her third poetry book.
The book cover with the light bulb, designed by Mary L Schmidt, also fits with the book description – she writes poetry when she has light bulb moments.
Why do I say the title is apt or most fitting? The Poems come from the very heart of the author who aims to delight with her outspoken words based on a variety of life experiences, from her travels, her memoirs, her poems to excite the senses on Love and the present situation the entire world is facing now with the Pandemic, COVID 19 and our lockdown at home.
Her poems on travels, for example, her visit to Rome, was so explicitly clear that it makes the reader believe he/she is traversing the streets of Rome and visiting all the tourist attractions there: the Colosseum, the giant amphitheater and St. Peter’s Cathedral.
Then there is the visit to Paris and the Louvre where she purchased a picture of the Mona Lisa.
Just read this:
We had queued up for hours in a very long line.
There was no social distancing at that time.
To visit the Louvre Art Museum in France.
We gasped in awe on reaching the entrance.
We saw paintings unique and distinguished.
With both sides of the vast rooms enriched.
Visitors were stunned with the masterpieces
Of Leonardo Da Vinci and Paolo Veronese.
Thousands flocked to see the Mona Lisa.
They blocked me from taking a proper picture.
* The Wedding Feast at Cana was so large,
It caught my eyes, I thought it was a mirage.

The Global Pandemic- COVID 19 did not escape the eye of this Poet:
It’s not too late for humankind to revert to God’s ways.
During the lockdown, we have enough time to mend our ways.
God is the same as he was yesterday, today, and forever.
He’s patient, forgiving, and will welcome us in the life hereafter
She had reasons to smile with what has happened in her home country of Trinidad and Tobago:
Courts will hold hearings electronically.
Great news for lawyers and judges in the family.
Trials will be held by video conferencing.
No more time wasted on the roads commuting.
Mrs. Brenda Mohammed writes simply, but in a way that even the youngest can understand the meanings she wishes to convey, and you visualise that you are part of her journey.
I was also impressed by the beautiful and deserving tributes written by Shiju H Pallithazheth, Dr. Emmanuel Tende, Mala Naidoo, Christabel Sylvester, Debabrata Mohanty, and Mohammed Erfun Amin.
On the back pages, are glowing reviews written by Dr. Vandita Dharni and Shanita Vichare, so readers can know what to expect.
This Book of poems, “A Road Travelled” will surely delight and appeal to the senses and prove to all literature lovers that you could easily pen your feelings, your dreams, your travels, your love experiences into good poetry.

Author Shanita Vichare reviewed A road Travelled by Author Brenda Mohammed

A Road Travelled: Poetry to delight. is a Medley of Author Brenda Mohammed’s thoughts and impressions from her lightbulb moments as she says, rightly.

The varied poems are picked from her amazing life’s journey, poets sensibilities, and historic moments of ‘World History: Corona Virus’s murky moments of life. There seems to be a feeling of doom and disaster as one reads about the millions of death due to this pandemic. She has written on sundry topics, of love’s woes and jilt, broken marriages and infidelity. But she has a strong faith that the act of kindness and humanity will be more profane and sacred, under these dark clouds, hovering over humanity.

Brenda’s poems are framed in a ‘Global Space’ as she has been a ‘Globe-Trotter’, more of wanderlust, and her light- bulb moments have always urged her to pen poems. Her persona in poems – has been to flashy destinations from London’s Eye, Buckingham Palace, Switzerland, Austria, Hollywood in the USA, or on beautiful Caribbean cruises. So there is a wild chase of emotions.

Her voice is crisp and clear, her tone is very discerning, keeping in the retrospective about her poetic arena. Her poems showcase varied styles from the heightened romance and passions- of Romeo and Juliet types: “ Strange Love, ” yet there is a rebuke and one-sided love, which questions and flatters, the ego of the lover.

In ‘Love Is Not A Theory’ she brings out the colours of life very emotionally and describes how shades of love change with the passage of time. The roller coaster ride of love and fame is forever changing. Brenda has fashioned this poem in a ‘Monologue ’ style. Love is contagious, universal, and innocent. She gives befitting examples and takes the reader along with her on her journey.

If it frets, the lover’s reaction will also be fretful, sulk, and sullen.

For her, love is enriching, a bond of trust, that doesn’t rust or change with, the seasons, nor is it skin deep. There are beautiful analogies made by her and she sure knows the secret of love!

There are voices that speak – love is so fragile, faint, and quiet and yet it gets under your skin! Sometimes her lovers are ‘Prudent’.

The chemistry of the love birds and their mental agony is so well expounded in her love poems. I must say, she is so realistic and yet emotive. Her lovers are the people who crave for attention. The twinning of the lovers – is like “ the summer to his winter lips ” and “ demeanour under his skin” in his wakeful state. Or must I say, I remember ‘Mid-Summer Night’s Tale! William Shakespeare’s Romantic Plays. Archaic but not deluded.

“Grass Is Not Greener” Is a perfect poesy where all is fair when cupid strikes at the lover’s bosom. But when it withers it fades, creates ego issues, and a rift is felt in your relationships. Apologies are hard to come and the bottled feelings lead to disaster and illness. Her lucid language helps to atone love and acts balmy on the ruse or fragmented moments. The prolific poetess certainly conveys to act fast and connotes to having dopamine, rather than resort to anger and guilt.
On the rebound, you may find a better lover, but it may not be any more different than the old lover.

“Dinner Time” – Here the lover is living in a make-belief glasshouse. The lady love waits for her lover, or husband to return. As she lays the dinner table for two, she soon realizes she is ‘solo’. The forlorn and feign feelings in the husband & wife relationship is weaved very diligently, I felt that I was able to understand the rift between the two.

Her lady in love is not deluded she just packs her bags and leaves the home for good. Brenda Mohammed as a poetess talks through her characters in poems and she confronts the problem. There is no cacophony of the ego and guilt in her women’s persona. Her women come out to be brave in the end, more mature and discerning. I really loved these poems on love. Isn’t ‘Love’ the ‘most misconstrued’ word?

The Cover Page is very catchy which makes one ponder at that ‘Bulb’ which ignites the fire.

The Cover was made by Mary L Schmidt a famous artist from Motivational Strips’.

Review by Author Mala Naidoo for A Road Travelled by Author Brenda Mohammed

A ROAD TRAVELLED obtained another five-star review within a week of it being published on Goodreads and Kobo.

"The poet’s compositions are engaging as they are intriguing.
Like the title of the collection implies, the reader travels along life’s journeys with the composer.
Poems capture everyday life experiences rather than the abstract with accessible connections through characters, places, and situations in a flowing narrative style.
Embedded in each poem is a moral message for the enhancement of life’s journey. ‘
A Road Travelled’ is wise in tone and knowing in subject matter framing lessons that will stand the test of time.
An entertaining read on a range of topics that invite the reader to return to the physical and spiritual realm of the poet for clarity on life’s challenges and shared joy."

Thank you Mala Naidoo for this wonderful review.

I also want to share with you the Book Review by Dr. Vandita Dharni.
THANK YOU, Dr.Vandita Dharni
The book, ‘A Road Travelled’ has been written by the prolific author Brenda Mohammed who has earlier authored 24 books.
It portrays a mélange of emotions keeping various themes in focus: primarily love, love’s woes, travel, and effects on life due to lockdown during the pandemic.
She is an avid reader herself and a true wordsmith with a penchant for words.
She has etched her poems very soulfully with a distinctive style and panache.
Her poem, ‘A Lover’s Dream is an endearing account of a lover envisioning the ideal woman of his dreams who is intelligent and is “forever a spark under his skin”.
She’s a perfect blend of beauty with brains.
The next poem, ’Evil Stalks the Land’ is a poignantly woven narrative that revolves around Joe, the perfect husband and father, ardent churchgoer, and a sincere man.
Yet when evil stalked the land,
“He fell prey to that life and sank very deep.
To climb out of it, the walls seem too steep.”
It reveals the uncertainty of life.
People fall prey to evil so easily especially if they are vulnerable.
A poem from her collection that really touches my heart is ‘Grass Is Not Greener’.
It is a realistic poem, a stark reminder to the readers not to harbour grudges against their loved ones but to forgive and forget the past.
Her advice is lucid and she is tenacious about adhering to her principles of burying the hatchet and letting bygones be bygones.
Her sound words of advice echo clearly when she says:
“Apologise quickly to your loved ones and make amends
Before illness or a disaster strikes and your life ends.”
Her poem ‘Lost in London’ is a reverie about her visit to London where she imagines seeing all the sights and sounds of the city only to find herself lost in the maze of the crowd.
The man who had promised to show her around never turns up.
She later realizes it’s only a dream and she feels relieved.
Another poem that recounts her experiences in London is the poem, ‘Walton Mariner’ where the poet mentions her memorable visit to that park, with picturesque views of swans, sunny treks, and the River Thames.
It ends on a note of nostalgia where she expresses her desire to revisit this land so close to her heart.
Another poem that revolves around a country is ‘Switzerland’ which she calls a country with panoramic landscapes, scenic beauty, and towering mountains with Alpine lakes and grassy valleys.
She particularly talks about her visit to the fountains, churches, and the iconic flower clock.
Two poems that stand out strikingly are the ones based on the lockdown,
‘Changing Times’ and ‘Life Was Beautiful’.
They showcase the author’s innate compassion and concern for people who are undergoing the trauma of being in lockdown mode.
She generates awareness among people about the impending dangers and how to combat this terrible pandemic. Her ultimate advice to her readers is to pray and ask God to intervene.
On the whole, this book is a reader’s delight and I wish Brenda all the very best for it!

He was born in Puducherry, India and raised in Penn Valley, Pennsylvania. His most well-received films include the supernatural horror thriller The Sixth Sense (1999), the superhero thriller Unbreakable (2000), the science fiction horror Signs (2002), and the historical drama-horror film The Village (2004). This was a strange read. Brenda Mohammed writes unlike anybody else I've read. She is such an incredible gift to this genre and is a great introduction if this isn't your usual brand of reading. The characterization is spot on, even though the material is very futuristic, I still found myself recognising the flaws. There were moments that reminded me of the work of M Night Shyamalan and that's what Mohammed does well - she creates stories that are easy to visualize. Fantastic. Definitely recommended."

"Reviewed By Darin Godby for Readers' Favorite

Author Brenda Mohammed gives the reader valuable nuggets of truth to use within their own writing career in How To Write For Success.
There is a brief introduction listing the various books the author has written and her ability to encompass different types of literature.
The purpose of this book is to show readers that the author has a passion to help other readers fulfill their lifelong dream of writing their own book.
I really appreciated the personal stories on how the author writes her own material and how important research is, even before one begins to write.
She also lists several Facebook groups she has joined to help promote both her material and herself as an author.

One of the best statements I appreciated within this book is: “A book description is your sales page.
It will sell your book. Make sure it is engaging and can turn a browse into a buy.”
This is great and valuable information for a writer to understand.
There is also listed the importance of copyrighting the material, getting an ISBN number, etc. Whoever gets the ISBN number is considered the publisher.
The author has the choice of getting their own or letting the publisher get it for them.
Pre-orders are very important to an author.
Creating excitement before the book is even printed is huge.
There are also many listed things that one can do following publication.
Branding yourself is also very important.
People must know about you and your material, how to find it and consider reading it.
I really enjoyed all the links provided in the e-book, allowing the reader to go to various publishers, writing aids, Facebook groups, etc.
This is an asset to any writer at any level, given the detailed information, but for the beginner it is a must-have!"

Review:
An intriguing start of a promising series.
Format: Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a story about a mad scientist who got really mad. We do not learn about him and his motives much in this book since it's just the first part of the series. Yet Brenda Mohammed shows us the first consequences of his madness in this clever story about a virus outbreak leading to an emergence of strange zombie-like people. The fast pace and amount of action keeps this story thrilling. At the same time, the author manages to give us a glimpse of the main characters' feelings that do not concern the zombies directly. We can observe a young doctor planning her marriage and her admirer's disappointment. This seems to be a plot within the main plot, and it makes this story more complex, the characters easier to relate to, which is not easy to achieve in such a short story that is packed with action. Yet there is a final twist that reveals to us that personal lives of the main protagonists may be infected by Zeeka's influence more than it seems at first glance.
This book leaves many questions unanswered and makes me look forward to reading the sequels. I can even imagine this book as a good movie.

My Life as a Banker: A Life Worth Living]] is a wonderful story detailing how the author started at a clerical level and rose to a senior position, solely on the basis of her dedication, hard work, and intelligence. Brenda Mohammad describes how the manual work was transformed to computerization, her working at different branches and working relationship with her colleagues Her farewell party from the fellow workers describes how popular she was during her stay with them.
It was interesting to note, as a tradition, the groom used to write a letter to the bride's father to seek permission to marry his daughter. This is what happened when her husband proposed her. Description of her marriage is so beautiful and emotional.
Brenda had an extensive travelling of the United States and Europe; I enjoyed her visits to Germany and Holland the most.
Close knitting in her family and how her parents and her siblings took care of each other is worth reading; It was touching to read how her father talked to all of his children separately before his death. Brenda's belief in God is remarkable.

Resurrection : Revenge of Zeeka Book 5

Resurrection: Revenge of Zeeka Book 5 was released on Friday 25th, 2017.

On 27th Feb. 2017, the book received a five-star review.

ByKato's Revenge on February 27, 2017
Format: Kindle Edition

In an entertaining conclusion to the Zeeka series, Resurrection brings the story full circle. If you haven’t read any of the stories in the series, it’s worth starting with book one ‘Revenge of Zeeka’ just to see the author evolve alongside the story and her characters.

For me, the high point of the series was this book’s predecessor, Zeeka’s Ghost, but then, as a reader I do like ghost stories and this paranormal element was handled well in book four.

This final installment is quite surprising as it brings back the rather disturbing character of Nine from book one. Nine is on a mission all of his own, and when he learns of technology that may save him from the Zika virus and help him on his ultimate goal (read to find out) – he’s all for the procedure, despite the risks.

Aside from this storyline the quirkiness of the robot Eve adds some humour to the story. The characters that have been with us throughout the series get a good send off too.

Original and based on current events.

This book is the first in a science fiction thriller series about futuristic zombies and their Master Zeeka, set in the year 2036.

FIRST REVIEW FOR ZEEKA'S GHOST on GOODREADS

John Hennessy rated it 5.0 out of 5.0 stars

Zeeka's Ghost
It was amazing

Zeeka's back. As if you could keep a good zombie down But he's more than the mad scientist/zombie fascinated persona of the earlier books, and in this fourth installment, the ghost of a demon haunts our eponymous hero Steven into near madness.

The thought that he hadn't quite seen off Zeeka haunts him, until the ghost of the title becomes more than just pangs of regret in his mind. The story centres more around Steven so returns to the original concept bore out in book one. This rounding of the story arc is interesting and a good way to handle it.

The other characters are there too, but they play a secondary role in Zeeka's Ghost.

Probably the best of the Zeeka stories to date, author Brenda Mohammed is to be congratulated on another take of zombies and now ghosts!

I think anyone could read this as the horror elements are PG-13 / Cert 12 rated. But more mature readers will pick up on regrets we have as we age and experience life.

A final word must go to the cover - it's excellent and captures the essence of the book brilliantly.

Second Review:

A thrill ride

Extending from her Zeeka and the Zombies trilogy is Mohammed's most nostalgic offering, Zeeka's Ghost. Zeeka is back but not at all how you expect. Unresolved issues, regrets and love are all splendidly woven together with the right mix of startling plot twists the author is masterful at. Fans of the series will not be disappointed and new fans will be caught up to speed in no time. Another thrilling read!

My Life as a Banker - New Five Star Review

NEW FIVE STAR REVIEW

My Life as a Banker
By Fifty Sheds of Books on 7 July 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
My Life As A Banker is a fascinating, intimate story. The author has an engaging writing style that draws you into the story and you feel as though she is talking directly to you, the reader. There is a nice balance between the professional and the personal and while I found the professional aspects rewarding, the highlight for me was reading about the author's interesting life.

The social history aspects of the book also fascinated me, particularly the descriptions of life in Trinidad and I would imagine that this memoir will serve as an important document for social historians in years to come.

This might sound strange to say about a book with Banker in the title, but the author demonstrates quite vividly that there are far more important things than money in life.
