Review:
An intriguing start of a promising series.
Format: Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a story about a mad scientist who got really mad. We do not learn about him and his motives much in this book since it's just the first part of the series. Yet Brenda Mohammed shows us the first consequences of his madness in this clever story about a virus outbreak leading to an emergence of strange zombie-like people. The fast pace and amount of action keep this story thrilling. At the same time, the author manages to give us a glimpse of the main characters' feelings that do not concern the zombies directly. We can observe a young doctor planning her marriage and her admirer's disappointment. This seems to be a plot within the main plot, and it makes this story more complex, the characters easier to relate to, which is not easy to achieve in such a short story that is packed with action. Yet there is a final twist that reveals to us that personal lives of the main protagonists may be affected by Zeeka's influence more than it seems at first glance.
This book leaves many questions unanswered and makes me look forward to reading the sequels. I can even imagine this book as a good movie.

Next week I will talk about Book 2 Zeeka's Child.

Readers, this is shocking
This is the spookiest thing to happen.
I just read an article in science news where new clinical trials are being conducted to attempt to bring back humans to life.
This sounds just like my Science Fiction series about Revenge of Zeeka.
I never imagined that what I imagined could come true.
Here is the link to the article:
NEW CLINICAL TRIAL WILL ATTEMPT TO BRING BACK DEAD HUMANS TO LIFE
When I wrote the series Zeeka Chronicles it was just science fiction - stuff that I made up and imagined.
Read the series and see for yourself.
The stories are set in the year 2036.
Will it really happen in real life?

Review of Skin Cage
The story held my interest from the very start because the author so vividly describes what it is like to be trapped in your own body, aware but unable to move or communicate with anyone. I have known two persons who were in a coma. In fact one still is for the past four years and I kept reading this book to find out more of what it is like to be in a vegetative state and what it is like to be a caregiver to people in that condition..
The author’s descriptive writing held me glued to the book. The ending was indeed surprising.
Although this book is fiction I recommend it to relatives of persons who are in a coma. They will learn from this book to be careful what they do or say in front of them

5.0 out of 5 stars Zombie best seller

The island setting for this zombie story makes it a standout. The author manages to dazzle her readers in a plot that includes Carnival celebrations, a vengeful scientist, and a very unlikely hero. You'll surely get caught up in the rhythm of this story.

A great short... Five stars

Brenda Mohammed has produced a great short story in Revenge of Zeeka. The plot isn't complex but it has been delivered in a way the reader is kept interested as the pages are turned. The plot is driven forward by dialogue which I feel for this length of story is good.
Character detail is good and romance and intrigued are played out in this well written zombie story. Everything is not as it seems and the author keeps you guessing. Among the characters is a detective, Jack Wildy. He is likeable and believable. Hopefully, Mohammed will allow us to meet him again in another story?

Don't trust your eyes in this engaging zombie tale!
By Kato's Revenge on February 27, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
I like weird stories. Not everything has to be set in a world you know, and perhaps my favourite author, Stephen King is my favourite because he turns the normal into abnormal effortlessly. For author Brenda Mohammed's latest work, we are pulled into the genre of zombie horror, which has seen a massive resurgence in recent years.
What I love about this first short story in the series is how, like King, the author has her characters Mark and Raynor going about their normal lives when eyes really start to play tricks on them, and the question is for us, dear readers, is positioned thus:-
Can we trust what we see with our own eyes, or is this a vision, hallucination, or some other mind trick being played on us by some evil entity?
Possibly the answer is yes to each element of that question.
Rather than being a full blown horror, this first story serves as a tasty morsel (I really shouldn't use such lines in a review about flesh eating zombies!) to what is to come. Who is the mysterious Zeeka? Why does he want revenge? Not everything is answered here, but will be in future stories in the series. At its relatively short length, it is the perfect introduction to this author's writing, which I am seeing a great growth with each work she pens.
My favourite character is actually Detective Jack Wildy. There is so much that cold be done with this charcter, he reminds me of Jack Lord of Hawaii-5-0 (original, people!) fame.
This is an action packed novella that has several plot lines running, but at no time did I feel lost. Each character seamlessly interacted with others, and there's an interesting man hunt happening which will stretch resources of the said Detective to breaking point. Raynor's impending marriage to long-time love Janet might not happen after all.
"It is the perfect introduction to this author's writing."
These different plot lines keep you reading, and keep you guessing. Despite its length I did not read this book in one sitting. I wanted to absorb the cleverly interlinked plot lines. In fact, there's not a lot of the mysterious Zeeka of the title in this first story, and I think that's a clever decision by the author.
Buy it before the next installment is released!

Broken Realms (The Chronicles of Mara Lantern, Book 1) Kindle Edition
Mara Lantern doesn’t believe in metaphysical powers and alternate realities. That's about to change.
After a jetliner plunges into the Columbia River near Portland, Oregon, everyone survives. So why do crash investigators have a hangar full of bodies, one for each passenger except Mara? Before the plane goes down, she glimpses a new reality, one with scales and snouts, fangs and gills. She sees a boy running down the aisle carrying a ball of blue light, chased by a girl who could be her clone. By trying to help, she unwittingly unleashes dozens of creatures on an unsuspecting world and sparks a series of events that threatens her life, her family and everything she believes. To save them, she has to embrace a power she cannot comprehend.
MY REVIEW
Well written and unusual plot.

The story had a very interesting start. A plane crashed in the ocean yet all the passengers survived.
The book held my interest thereafter as I was curious to find out why such a miracle occurred.
The story was well written but it took too long to discover the truth.
I enjoyed the book.
