Readers, this is shocking

This is the spookiest thing to happen.
I just read an article in science news where new clinical trials are being conducted to attempt to bring back humans to life.
This sounds just like my Science Fiction series about Revenge of Zeeka.
I never imagined that what I imagined could come true.
Here is the link to the article:
NEW CLINICAL TRIAL WILL ATTEMPT TO BRING BACK DEAD HUMANS TO LIFE
When I wrote the series Zeeka Chronicles it was just science fiction - stuff that I made up and imagined.
Read the series and see for yourself.
The stories are set in the year 2036.
Will it really happen in real life?

Mad scientist haunting Steven as a ghost

Format: Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The mad scientist we know from the earlier books in the series returns as a ghost in this book.
It’s not clear if he wants to help Steven, the boy he had kidnapped and raised, or whether he wants to harm him even more than he already did. This book is again a science fiction book showing us what our world may look like in twenty years.
Despite the advancing technology, we may remain vulnerable during storms, we may still be afraid of ghosts as well as evil humans.
Most importantly, many of us will still believe in family values, which seem to be at the core of this book.
While some people can’t forgive Steven the creation of zombies who killed their relatives, Steven deems it impossible to forgive the man who kidnapped him and raised him as a mad scientist.
He was deprived of his real parents but reunited with his brother later, found a good wife and even a sister in law and a niece.
It’s impossible to predict how the story will unfold and who finds an absolution.
Writing about our possible future requires a lot of knowledge and creativity. Brenda Mohammed exhibits both in all her Zeeka books, but her fourth book is probably the best one.
I am already looking forward to her next book.

Extending from her Zeeka and the Zombies trilogy is Mohammed's most nostalgic offering, Zeeka's Ghost.
Zeeka is back but not at all how you expect.
Unresolved issues, regrets, and love are all splendidly woven together with the right mix of startling plot twists the author is masterful at. Fans of the series will not be disappointed and new fans will be caught up to speed in no time. Another thrilling read!

Zeeka dead and buried? Don't believe it.
By Kato's Revenge on October 9, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
Zeeka's back. As if you could keep a good zombie down. But he's more than the mad scientist.zombie fascinated persona of the earlier books, and in this fourth installment, the ghost of a demon haunts our eponymous hero Steven into near madness.
The thought that he hadn't quite seen off Zeeka haunts him, until the ghost of the title becomes more than just pangs of regret in his mind.
The story centres more around Steven so returns to the original concept bore out in book one.
This rounding of the story arc is interesting and a good way to handle it.
The other characters are there too, but they play a secondary role in Zeeka's Ghost.
Probably the best of the Zeeka stories to date, author Brenda Mohammed is to be congratulated on another take of zombies and now ghosts!
I think anyone could read this as the horror elements are PG-13 / Cert 12 rated.
But more mature readers will pick up on regrets we have as we age and experience life.
A final word must go to the cover - it's excellent and captures the essence of the book brilliantly.

Although this book is the fourth book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.
It costs just 0.99 cents. Get it here

Amazon Reviewer

If you want to read the first three stories in one book then get "Revenge of Zeeka: Horror Trilogy"

Five Star Review from Readers Favorite International.

"In Revenge of Zeeka by Brenda Mohammed, the island of Gosh is under attack by an army of zombies under the command of a vengeful science genius. In the year 2016, the Zika virus broke out in Central and South America with life-threatening effects for pregnant women. Given a choice to save the mothers or the unborn babies, a decision was made to save the mothers. The tiny stillborns were securely and secretly buried. Only a few people knew of this. Unknown to everyone, however, a certain scientist managed to get hold of all 51 bodies, bring them back to life, and condition them to follow his command, creating himself a perfect army of zombies. Now, twenty years later, the evil scientist seeks revenge on those he holds responsible for the stillbirths. Only three of the current doctors at Central Hospital - Raynor, Mark, and George - witnessed the unfortunate events of 2016. The three have strong suspicions about who might be controlling the zombies. Meanwhile, Zeeka is lying in wait for the perfect time to unleash his army onto the island. Zeeka has big, evil plans and this is just the beginning. In a desperate search for answers, and with very little to go on, the doctors search for the elusive Master Zeeka. Will they save the islanders from Zeeka and his zombies, or will it be too late?

Revenge of Zeeka, by Brenda Mohammed, is a one of a kind novella trilogy that delivers an incredible story guaranteed to give readers an absolute sci-fi treat. I especially liked how Brenda used current events as the pivotal point from which to build this amazing sci-fi horror. This made the story even more relatable. More importantly, however, I admired how she owned her story and created this captivating version of events. She captured with amazing depth the setting, characters, plot, and emotions in such few words. If you are looking for a thrilling short read, this fast-paced, sci-fi action novella will give you the time of your life."

And here is an extract of a new five-star review I received yesterday

The many twists and turns in this trilogy make it exciting, thrilling and suspenseful. The reader wants to keep reading to find out what will happen next. The first book ends on a cliffhanger and a wrong assumption of who the real villain is. One is forced to continue reading the second book to find the answers. The second book builds more suspense as we discover that the real culprit is not the one we had assumed. We have to read the last book to find out if the guilty person was really apprehended.
The book is very carefully thought out and planned. Gosh appears to be a symbol of the author's native country. It describes the carnival celebrations and the pleasant weather. Justice prevails and the evil doer is captured. Jason, whose real name is Steven, finds happiness at the end and marries Janet's older sister. The book illustrates clearly the crime definitely does not pay. The good are rewarded and the bad are punished.
All in all, this is a well-written trilogy that makes interesting reading, keeps the reader in suspense, and encourages the reader to continue reading to see what will happen next. The author exhibits creativity in the way she manipulates the plot and creates a solution to tie up all the loose ends.

The Scarry Inn by Shirley Mc Cann is a spooky story.

SYNOPSIS

Convinced they are the victims of a sick practical joke, Heidi Bowman, and her three friends are resigned to spending the night at The Scarry Inn, even though the atmosphere is anything but welcoming. Surely the owners, Dick and Thelma are simply trying to drum up business for their new motel by terrifying their guests.

But when Kara is found brutally murdered, they realize the danger is real and they must find their way to safety before the secrets of the inn claim another victim. Making things even more difficult is the lack of cellphone service in the small town of Frighton, Arizona. With no clue as to who they can trust, the remaining threesome are now caught up in a fight for their lives.

MY REVIEW

Scarry Inn was gripping and super-thrilling and deserving of five stars and more.
It was filled with fear, deception, misconception, and murder.
This talented author knows how to keep you glued to your seat and keep you turning the pages.
Car trouble forces four young adults to take shelter in Scarry Inn in Frighton, Arizona.
What followed afterward was sheer terror for those teenagers.
The names of the Inn and the town can instill fear in the minds of anyone.
Scarry Inn and Frighton were brilliant choices for names of the Inn and town.
I expected something scary and scary it was indeed.
It was filled with suspense from beginning to end.
I could not put down the book until I read it all.
Shirley Mc Cann is another great writer I have only just discovered.
Her ability to describe and plot scenes with numerous twists and turns is incredible.
It is a spooky story.

A Tale of Futuristic Zombies and their Mastermind Zeeka

'Revenge of Zeeka : Horror Trilogy', consists of all three kindle short reads in the Zeeka and the Zombies series. I have chosen to put all three stories together in one book as it makes for easier reading. My choice of technology in the year 2036 for zombie killing may be new to readers.
This book is for fans of horror and mystery thrillers and the books are quite suitable for young adults and teens.

The three parts of the book all received five-star reviews.

Those of you who read 'Revenge of Zeeka:Zeeka and the Zombies,' know that it is a multi-layered introduction to a much bigger zombie tale of futuristic zombies and their mastermind Zeeka.

If you have read 'Zeeka's Child' you will realize that the plot got very complicated, but in the end, Zeeka was revealed.

Still, there was much more to come in Zeeka Returns. The manhunt by the police and Zeeka's capture were all part of the plot, but the way these events occurred, and the methods used, brought an exciting conclusion to the story.

The entire story was set in the year 2036, so you will have an inkling of my idea of the future when you read this suspenseful, mystery, horror thriller.

And now dear readers, I have a surprise for you.
I am giving away free mobi copies of the first book in the series. To receive your free book please sign up at my Website

Mercedes Fox interviews Brenda Mohammed

Howdy my lovelies!

Welcome to Interview FoxSeat with guest author Brenda Mohammed

Brenda, a multi-genre author, lives in the beautiful tropical island of Trinidad in the Caribbean. A former Bank Manager and Insurance Professional, she turned to writing after she retired from the corporate world. Brenda loves to travel and enjoys a game of Scrabble when she is not writing, or reading books by other authors. She has written thirteen books: – six memoirs [one on her travels], one children’s book, three short-story [fiction] collections, and three kindle zombie thriller short reads.

Book blurb: Brenda’s latest book is a zombie mystery trilogy, “Revenge of Zeeka – A Trilogy.”

It is the complete trilogy of a multi-layered zombie tale, set in the year 2036 in a small exotic island called Gosh. The story is told in three parts, which are available as kindle short reads. Zeeka and the Zombies is an intriguing introduction to this story of futuristic zombies, and it leaves you wondering what will happen next. In Zeeka’s Child, the plot gets more complicated, and after many twists and turns, Zeeka is revealed. In the final episode, Zeeka Returns, this very exciting three-part series concludes in a most surprising way.
This is what one reviewer said, “I’m happy to see all three stories together in one package because they make for an easy read and a thrilling one too. The author skillfully thought of not telling just another zombie story. Since the stories are based in the future, she included technology unheard of before. Also, there are plot twists that will leave your head spinning and an exciting hunt for the clever mastermind, Zeeka. Young adult and adult readers will enjoy this trilogy.”

>Why do you write?

I write because I have stories to tell. I believe readers can learn something from each of my books.
>
When did you decide to become a writer?

I decided to become a writer after I left the corporate world. I was a former Bank Manager and Insurance Professional.

What genre are your books?

I am a multi-genre author. I write fiction as well as non-fiction.

How long does it usually take you to complete a book?

It all depends on the plot. Short stories take about two months to complete, but larger books take up to a year or more.

What made you decide to sit down and actually start something?

I wrote a biography of my father while I was still employed at the Bank. I did that book out of love for my deceased father who was an Educator. He wrote all his notes in diaries and scraps of paper and I gathered them all up and did a book. I thought that his life was worthy of recording. However, I did not publish the book at that time. I revised it in November 2014 and published it in both kindle and paperback. I started writing seriously in the year 2013. My first book was a children’s story. It was about the adventures of a teddy bear with a wonderful family. After that, I wrote my own autobiography, “My Life as a Banker – A Life worth Living.” The positive reviews I got from those books just led me on to write more books.

Do you have a special time to write or how is your day structured?

At first, I wrote at nights but nowadays, I just write anytime I have an urge to do so.

What have you written?

I have written the following books:

Memoirs of Dr. A. M. Khan” [2014] – The book is about the life of my father. One reviewer has described this book accurately. “There is a need for books like this one- books which document the struggle of the first generations of immigrants and their children to carve a place in their society, and then provide the foundation for the next generation to achieve even greater success. In broad terms, this is general knowledge. What is valuable in this book is the step-by-step description detailing the road map by which one successful educator did so.”

My Life as a Banker: A Life Worth Living” [2014]- Brenda’s autobiography.

In this book, I related how banking evolved from manual operations to the sophisticated computerized system, which staff and customers now enjoy. I recalled the days when banks were small post office like structures and the hard work involved in bringing them to modern day standard. It is also the true story of the determination of a sixteen-year-old girl to succeed in what was a man’s world in those days. The book also reveals some very personal details about my life. It is a Memoir with a difference. It is both motivational and inspirational.

“Retirement is Fun: A New Chapter” (2014) – This book is a sequel to “My Life as a Banker.” I learnt through my many experiences that retirement is a time to enjoy life. I faced many challenges such as cancer, deaths of loved ones, and an accident, which made me realize that life is very short. On the other hand, I landed a new job, and had numerous travel opportunities. I proved that when I retired from my job at the bank, I definitely did not retire from life.

“Stories People Love” (2014) – This book contains short stories of Crime, Adventure, and Love as follows: 1. A Headmaster’s Daughter – In the fifties, when little value was placed on education for girls, a passionate young girl finds true love. 2. Travel Dreams of Yesterday – Two young adventurous girls take a trip across the world. 3. The Dirtiest of all evils – A thrilling murder mystery that will keep you guessing as to how it will all end. 4. Age Difference – A Love Story. True love knows no bounds but can there be a limit to the age of your partner? One reviewer referred to this book as “A collection of stories all connected by the common theme of hope.” Another said, “This is a neat and extremely readable collection and shows an author who is able to write fiction and non-fiction elements seamlessly. It’s not an easy combination and yet the author pulls it off admirably.”

Adventures of Squeaky Doo – A Teddy Bear’s adventures” (2014)

This book is a short story collection related by a Teddy Bear named Squeaky Doo. Five stories are contained therein:

Squeaky Doo on the Beach
Squeaky Doo in California
Squeaky Doo in Orlando
Squeaky Doo goes on a Cruise
Squeaky Doo in Trinidad
Marge loved her Teddy bear and took it with her wherever she went. The teddy Bear never missed a family event. He was always in her arms, at family gatherings, trips around the world, or when she went shopping with her parents. The only place she could not take the teddy bear was to school.

However, something always went wrong. She would fall asleep, her parents would lift her and put her to bed, and poor Squeaky Doo was always left back in strange places. Miraculously he was found each time.

Your Time Is Now: A Time to be Born and a Time to Die” (2014)

In this memoir, Your Time is Now - A Time to be born and a time to Die, I connect powerful words of wisdom with events in my life and the lives of others.
It is written, based on powerful words spoken by King Solomon in the Book of Ecclesiastes about times and seasons. "There is a time to be born and a time to die, and a time for every purpose under the Heaven."

The book is intended to help people understand their own lives and to realize that we are all here on earth for a purpose.

I added inspirational Poems, and I have included a section on A Brother's Wisdom.

One reviewer said, " I recommend it to all especially to you who in times when the clouds grow dark- the silver linings emerge to remind us of a light emerging on the other side."

“I am Cancer Free” (2013)

This is a true story about my battle with ovarian cancer. That was a time when that dreadful disease threatened my life and financial well-being. Writing this book gave me the opportunity to demonstrate to others the meaning of prayer and family unity. Ten years hence, I am Cancer Free. I have included my thoughts on The True Value of Insurance.

“Heart-Warming Tales” (2014)

Heart - Warming Tales consists of four unusual and enjoyable tales of comedy, Crime, Love, Infidelity, Unhappy Marriages, and Dead Business, bundled together in one book.
"The Psychiatrist and the Thief," is a short comedy- mystery for your entertainment.
"Her Online Predator" is an exciting mystery - thriller /romance. It is a must read especially for young people who like to make friends on the Internet..That friend you make may not be who he/she claims to be.
"A Marriage on the Rocks," is about a young couple in an unhappy marriage. Did their marriage survive?
"The Undertaker's wife" is about a suspicious wife who doubted her husband.

“Travel Memoirs with Pictures: Exploring the world.” (2014)

This is a memoir of my travels around the world. In this book I related the family adventures, described places visited, and the wonderful times my family and I had in our travels to over thirty-four countries in the world.

“Revenge of Zeeka: Zeeka and the Zombies” Book 1[2016] – This story is a multi-layered intro to a much bigger zombie tale.

Zeeka’s Child [Revenge of Zeeka Book 2]” [2016] – The story evolves into a more complicated plot of kidnapping, suicide note, diamond necklace with tracking device, arson, flesh – eating zombies, major corruption in the Police Force and a few ‘skeletons’ jump out of the closet.

Zeeka Returns [Revenge of Zeeka Book 3]” [2016] -This book is the conclusion to the Zeeka story and is an exciting end to the trilogy.

Do you design your own book covers or have someone else? If you use someone else would you tell us who/website?

I recently discovered a very good cover designer. She is Kim McDougall of Catellane.com

Where do your ideas come from?

Sometimes I am in the shower and I get my ideas.

What is the hardest thing about writing?

Writing is not hard. Editing is.

What is the current book you are promoting?

My latest book was released on 4th May 2016. The name is Revenge of Zeeka – A Trilogy as described in Question 2.

If your book were made into a movie, whom would you cast?

If my book, Revenge of Zeeka – A Trilogy were made into a movie, I would want Gerard Butler, Angelina Jolie, and George Clooney as the leading actors.

Join the supporters for this movie at this link

Do you or have you sat down and read your book fresh off the presses as if it wasn’t yours? And if you did, what was it like?

Yes I did. I always found that I could improve on them.

What book are you currently reading or just finished?

I just read and reviewed John Hennessy’s “Clara’s Song.” It was a psychological thriller. John Hennessy is the British author of paranormal fantasy horror for YA, psychological horror and murder mysteries, plus his own unique take on vampire lore. He has also written ghost stories and delved into high epic fantasy with a hint of romance.

What do your fans mean to you?

I love my fans. I look forward daily to their comments on social media.

Is there a book you love you’d like to recommend to others?

I would like to recommend this book by Radu Balas to all aspiring authors: “Sell More Books Using Your Author Website: The Easiest Way to Brand, Build, Market, and Manage Your Authorship.” It can be very helpful.

Five Star Review for Reunion of the Blood by John Hennessy

The Tale of the Vampires continues in this spine-chilling tale, “Reunion of the Blood.”
Vampires and humans plot to kill the head vampire and two younger ones.
Gretchen wanted revenge for the killing of her husband and for turning her into a vampire. A male vampire agreed to help her,but he had ulterior motives.
The head vampire also had other plans for Gretchen.
Two brothers of Juliana were at loggerheads because one wanted to kill her and the other insisted on saving her.
Nina’s mother, a police officer, was searching for the two brothers to punish them for kidnapping their daughter and allowing her to be turned into a vampire by their sister.
A deacon and Mariana’s helper were also on a quest to kill Mariana.
The name of the book, “Reunion of the Blood” is suitable for the events that took place. The vampires convened once every eleven years and that was the year of the reunion.
The book is the goriest of the five, and readers who are following the story would not want to miss how it all turned out.
If you have not read the first four books in this vampire series, I suggest that you read them before starting this one.
With every book I have read by John Hennessy, I have learnt more about vampires.
The author has a talent for bringing out traits in characters in ingenious ways and he must be commended for this skill.
I look forward to “Dawn of a new Breed.”

Revenge of Zeeka - A Trilogy

Revenge of Zeeka - A Trilogy, is now available.

The book contains the three stories as follows:

Zeeka and the Zombies

Zeeka's Child

Zeeka's Return

Each book received favourable reviews by readers.

Here is an extract from each review.

Zeeka and the Zombies
A great short Five Stars
By Shazzie on March 1, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
Brenda Mohammed has produced a great short story in Revenge of Zeeka. The plot isn't complex but it has been delivered in a way the reader is kept interested as the pages are turned. The plot is driven forward by dialogue which is I feel for this length of story is good.

Character detail is good and romance and intrigued are played out in this well written zombie story. Everything is not as it seems and the author keeps you guessing. Among the characters is a detective, Jack Wilby. He is likeable and believable. Hopefully, Mohammed will allow us to meet him again in another story?

Zeeka's Child

Twists and turns galore Five Stars
By Mom R. on March 28, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
I was caught off guard and my mind was twisted and turned a few times by the much stronger plot in book 2. Many of the first book's questions are revealed here and I'm itching for more.

Zeeka's Return

A gloriously gory end to the Zeeka legend... Five Stars
By Kato's Revenge on April 24, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
Zeeka Returns is the pleasing third installment in the Zeeka and the Zombies series. What I have observed through reading each tale in sequence is a significant level up in terms of writing style and character development. That is no easy task in a short story format, and given Zeeka Returns is the longest of the three, it should be noted that it is still a short story. One wonders how our antagonist from book one is going to prevail - or not, as the case may be.

Perhaps it is a testament to the author that her main characters are not necessarily the most important ones for me. Book two introduced us to cop duo Wildy and Cole, and their dynamic worked well in Zeeka's Child, it is far better and more realised here. I enjoyed these two and would read on if they were to appear in another series.

The island of Gosh, once such a pleasant idyllic place to live, is now little short of a terror zone, where the threat of a zombie attack has the residents looking like they are going about their normal business, but in truth, they are not - they are scared, and rightly so.

Away from the police manhunt (zombie hunt?) Steve, Raynor and other friends reminisce about old times with hopes that there will be new times ahead for them to enjoy.

Perhaps the best innovation for the story - and befitting one set in the not too distant future, is the very welcome introduction of robot Miranda. Oh I'm sure by 2036 we'll all have one in our homes, but I like this design far better than Paulie's Bot in Rocky IV (1985 seems a very long time ago when I revisit that film). She's introduced as a home help but this is just one layer to her character design, and it's a joy to see her develop.

Ultimately Zeeka Returns answers the considerable set up given to us in books one and two. Will the now not so mysterious Zeeka pay for his crimes? Will he come willingly, and what will happen to the rogue group of zombies now free to unless carnage on the island? That's the main question to be answered and readers won't be disappointed with the story's end.

The key characters remain strong with the secondary ones providing functional support to the narrative whilst not overloading the story with
an unnecessary plot diversion. If anything, Zeeka's Return is the lightest of the the books in terms of script, so reader won't lose the thread of the story even if they put it down for a while.

Five Star Review of Dark Winter: The Wicca circle

My Review of Dark Winter: The Wicca Circle.
After reading “Stormling” and “Murderous Little Darlings” I got hooked on John Hennessy’s writings. I bought his new release “Dark Winter: Last rites” and then realized that I needed to read the first two books in the Dark Winter series before reading that one, so I bought the other two.
This review is for Dark Winter:The Wicca Circle. I was not at all disappointed. Once again he has produced a great story centered on a Mirror. A young girl named Romily was bequeathed a Mirror by her grandmother and was only told that her abilities to use it would become realized after her sixteenth birthday.
The Mirror gave her the ability to trap demonic entities, predict the future, and to kill those same entities with a touch of her bare hands.
It was a perilous time for Romily and her friends, and as I read the book I felt as if I was just as involved in the story as the main characters.
A good author has that effect on his readers and John Hennessy is one such author.
I am looking forward to reading the other two books in the series.
