Zeeka Chronicles - Top Reviews

Obtained five great Five-star Reviews for my newest release ZEEKA CHRONICLES.[Released 25th Feb. 2017]

1] I found the book to be original, brilliant, and full of suspense
5.0 out of 5.0 stars
ByA. J.on March 8, 2017
Format: Paperback
I received an advanced paperback copy of this book from the author. I just could not put the book down until I read the last page. There were so many twists and turns that every time I thought I had the ending all figured out, there was a new twist. I found the book to be original, brilliant, and full of suspense. There were many themes playing out. Some parts were dark and terrifying with zombies, murder, kidnapping, and police corruption. Other parts were about true love and family life.
The ending was amazing and I could envisage a bright future with advanced medical technology and robots as companions and helpers. This is a one of a kind book and one I would recommend that everyone should read.

2], A fascinating vision of our future
5.0 out of 5.0 stars
By Katie on March 4, 2017
Format: Kindle Edition
I have purchased and reviewed all five books separately. My only objection was that I wanted to see them in one book since I felt a little impatient when waiting for the next one. The author now gives new readers this opportunity. I really recommend to buy them in one book since the story is difficult to put down and when you finish the first book, you want to read the rest.
Apart from a thrilling story, the author gives us an interesting vision of the future, which seems entirely possible to me. She describes incredible progress in technology while humans do not change as much or as quickly. Her characters are still very much like people we know. They exhibit human weaknesses, can get jealous, vindictive, neglectful. There are only two people who seem perfect and incapable of mistakes in this series, but they are both robots. Evil characters seem scarier than normal bad people we know because they are equipped with better knowledge and technology, but deep down there is nothing demonic about them and they have a nice side as well.

3.Teens and up will adore this book
5.0 out of 5.0 stars
ByReviewed.By.Me on March 9, 2017
Format: Paperback
I was thrilled to receive my advance copy of this book because it contains all five Zeeka stories, which are among my favorite spooky reads. This series is about the havoc the sinister Zeeka and his Zombies unleashed on a little island in the Caribbean and the impact on people who live there. The darker side of humanity is explored with unforeseeable plot twists taking the reader down a sometimes grisly path. Thankfully, there is light at the end of the tunnel and I eventually emerged with feelings of redemption and satisfaction. Future tech is highlighted throughout the series making me desire one of the book's robot helpers who does dishes and kicks butt too.

4].5.0 out of 5.0 stars
“Zeeka Chronicles” is a futuristic story, taking place twenty years from now. After an outbreak of Zika virus on a small island in the US, strange events start taking place, and doctor Raynor and his colleagues, who still remembered the events of twenty years ago, have to deal with the consequences. A strange creature appears in the hospital, claiming to be one of the dead babies, buried by the state many years ago, dug out by the mad scientist and turned into zombies with a sinister goal…
The book consists of two parts, and the second book unveils dark secrets, which concern Raynor’s family and his brother’s disappearance. “Zeeka Chronicles” is a highly compelling mixture of sci-fi, supernatural, and dystopian genres, which make it an even more interesting read. And the story of the zombie number nine, in the end, made just a perfect finale that put a big smile on my face.

5.] 5.0 out of 5.0 stars
An above average zombie series brought together in one superb collection.
By Kato's Revenge on March 13, 2017
Format: Kindle Edition
The Zeeka Chronicles bring together all five stories in the Zeeka series. It is well presented and formatted to a high standard, and it's been a pleasure to see the author's expertise and wordcraft evolve as the series came to its conclusion.

There are many interesting characters in the series, I especially like the robots Miranda and Eve, but also the humans, such as Detective Jack Wildy who is surely due a spin-off story of his own.

It may be beyond most of us to write one good zombie tale, but Brenda Mohammed has given us five.

When book three came out it appeared to be the end of Zeeka's story, but book four - Zeeka's Ghost - took the series to a new and exciting higher level.

Resurrection - Book Five, does what it is supposed to do - it rounds off the series nicely but not in a limp, predictable way.

It is sufficiently different from 'Ghost' to buy on its own, which you can do of course. But 'Chronicles' gives you the whole story for a great price.

So if you want a zombie story with a heart - get this collection today.

REVIEW:

"A thrill ride
Extending from her Zeeka and the Zombies trilogy is Mohammed's most nostalgic offering, Zeeka's Ghost. Zeeka is back but not at all how you expect. Unresolved issues, regrets, and love are all splendidly woven together with the right mix of startling plot twists the author is masterful at. Fans of the series will not be disappointed and new fans will be caught up to speed in no time. Another thrilling read!"

If you want to read the first three stories in one book then get "Revenge of Zeeka: Horror Trilogy"

Five Star Review from Readers Favorite International.

"In Revenge of Zeeka by Brenda Mohammed, the island of Gosh is under attack by an army of zombies under the command of a vengeful science genius. In the year 2016, the Zika virus broke out in Central and South America with life-threatening effects for pregnant women. Given a choice to save the mothers or the unborn babies, a decision was made to save the mothers. The tiny stillborns were securely and secretly buried. Only a few people knew of this. Unknown to everyone, however, a certain scientist managed to get hold of all 51 bodies, bring them back to life, and condition them to follow his command, creating himself a perfect army of zombies. Now, twenty years later, the evil scientist seeks revenge on those he holds responsible for the stillbirths. Only three of the current doctors at Central Hospital - Raynor, Mark, and George - witnessed the unfortunate events of 2016. The three have strong suspicions about who might be controlling the zombies. Meanwhile, Zeeka is lying in wait for the perfect time to unleash his army onto the island. Zeeka has big, evil plans and this is just the beginning. In a desperate search for answers, and with very little to go on, the doctors search for the elusive Master Zeeka. Will they save the islanders from Zeeka and his zombies, or will it be too late?

Revenge of Zeeka, by Brenda Mohammed, is a one of a kind novella trilogy that delivers an incredible story guaranteed to give readers an absolute sci-fi treat. I especially liked how Brenda used current events as the pivotal point from which to build this amazing sci-fi horror. This made the story even more relatable. More importantly, however, I admired how she owned her story and created this captivating version of events. She captured with amazing depth the setting, characters, plot, and emotions in such few words. If you are looking for a thrilling short read, this fast-paced, sci-fi action novella will give you the time of your life."

And here is an extract of a new five-star review I received yesterday

The many twists and turns in this trilogy make it exciting, thrilling and suspenseful. The reader wants to keep reading to find out what will happen next. The first book ends on a cliffhanger and a wrong assumption of who the real villain is. One is forced to continue reading the second book to find the answers. The second book builds more suspense as we discover that the real culprit is not the one we had assumed. We have to read the last book to find out if the guilty person was really apprehended.
The book is very carefully thought out and planned. Gosh appears to be a symbol of the author's native country. It describes the carnival celebrations and the pleasant weather. Justice prevails and the evil doer is captured. Jason, whose real name is Steven, finds happiness at the end and marries Janet's older sister. The book illustrates clearly the crime definitely does not pay. The good are rewarded and the bad are punished.
All in all, this is a well-written trilogy that makes interesting reading, keeps the reader in suspense, and encourages the reader to continue reading to see what will happen next. The author exhibits creativity in the way she manipulates the plot and creates a solution to tie up all the loose ends.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great little collection, that will make you think (especially if you are a travel fan like me!)
By Kato's Revenge on February 21, 2016
Format: Paperback
'The Moral of this story is to never give up on your dreams.' - author Brenda Mohammed.

With a title like Stories People Love,, this book already had a lot to live up to. As I read each of the four short stories. in turn, the change from fiction to non-fiction made reading this collection all the more pleasurable.

As a bit of a travel fiend myself, the stand out story for me is Travel Dreams of Yesterday. The author writes this so well that you really feel you are journeying along with her.

Is it a spoiler to say each story is a heart warming one (a reference to one of the author's other works)?

I don't think so. Each element of the collection's opener, A Headmaster's Daughter, twists and turns and demands that you keep reading.

The Dirtiest of All Evils is intriguing as a murder mystery and seems initially out of place. But reading the stories again, it feels a good fit.

This is a neat and extremely readable collection and shows an author who is able to write fiction and non-fiction elements seamlessly. It's not an easy combination and yet the author pulls it off admirably.

My husband finally read my book - Retirement is Fun: A New Chapter

My husband finally read my book "Retirement is Fun : A New Chapter."
He decided to read the book prior to attending a retirement party for one of my relatives.
He commented as follows:
" This is a wonderful account of your Retirement and all the things you have accomplished after leaving your first job.
You have demonstrated that Life does not stop at Retirement.
Life is about the choices you make.
Retirement is really a New Chapter.
You have proven this."

Retirement is Fun : A New Chapter was referred to at that function by one of the speakers.
She said 'Retirement is Fun : A New Chapter is the best book she read on Retirement and that she will recommend it to all.
Incidentally, she was the person who wrote the Foreword to the book.
Here it is :

FOREWORD

Have you thought about your retirement, which will take place sometime in the future?
Many persons dread retirement. Some even look forward to it.
When you read this book, “Retirement is Fun” written by Mrs. Brenda Mohammed you will realize that no matter how you may think of your retirement, when you do retire, it can be a season of great joy and happiness. You will begin to realize too, that when one door closes another even more beautiful door opens for you.
You are truly able to see the beauty of life, and enjoy the beauty of time, time to spend with your children, grandchildren, siblings and to explore new horizons just like the author did.
She was able to face many of life’s challenges too when they did occur because of the beauty of the unlimited time and unconditional love of her family.
So all readers, my advice to you is to keep working while you are young and look forward to those glorious days of retirement ahead of you.
Read this book and see the wonders of retirement experienced first-hand by the author who at first was devastated by her sudden retirement in her still youthful days.
She learned through her many experiences that retirement is a time to enjoy life.
The author has undoubtedly proved that when she retired from her first job, she did not retire from life.

REVIEWS

Review by Readers Favorite:

Retirement is Fun: A New Chapter by Brenda Mohammed is an interesting memoir where the author shares with readers her moments after retirement and how it is a time when everyone should sit back and enjoy life. After reading this book, no one will dread retirement. They will all look forward to it and use that time to enjoy the beauty of life, spend more time with the family, and experience their unconditional love. Retiring from the job does not mean one retires from life because one gets time to appreciate the beauty of unlimited time and use it effectively by doing things they missed out on doing while they were working
.
The book is uplifting as it makes everyone who is going to retire look forward to it. The author's experiences and adventures after retirement give readers ideas on how to handle their lives in a good and happy way after retiring from their jobs. Brenda Mohammed shows by example how one's attitude can make a difference to everything and life can be enjoyed at any age, irrespective of whether you are young or not.
The memoir is simple and chronicles the author's life and events, taking readers into her space. The memoir is a good read; readers can connect well with what the author says and the events and experiences in her life, and the way she handles life is tangible. The words of wisdom from Dr Murdoch quoted at the end of the book are very inspirational and will help readers look at life in a positive way. An interesting book for all those who are going to retire from their jobs and want to know how to handle life after that.

"We all face challenges. I have found that 'what doesn't kill you will make you stronger' to be true. I have recently met an inspirational writer Brenda Mohammed and in her book 'Retirement is Fun: A New Chapter' (Amazon) she reveals her triumph over hazardous challenges. Her positive outlook and faith carry her through the difficult phase between her high-profile job in a bank and retirement, but it is in these halcyon days of retirement, that life really throws her a curved ball. No matter what you are going through, make it count and enable growth. You are not alone.

A Brilliant Review of Your Time is Now: A Time to be born and a Time to die.

J.B. Richards's review Nov 16, 2016
it was amazing
Read from November 13 to 14, 2016

'A Time to Read: A Beautiful and Soulful Tale about Trust and Belief in the Lord!
Having herself experienced a lifetime of tragedy and joy, Author Brenda Mohammed assumes the mantle of theologian/philosopher in her quest to understand and explain the elegance and meaning found in the biblical verses extolled in Ecclesiastes 3.
In "Your TIME is NOW: A Time to be Born and a Time to Die", Mohammed fully examines each memorable and precious verse and applies them to her own life experiences.
In doing so, she takes the reader on a journey through a lifetime filled with trials and tribulations, despair and hope, loss and success.
The author eloquently defines Ecclesiastes 3, pointing out that, by freely accepting God's will, she has been amply blessed with a faithful family, loyal mentors, good friends, and a full life.
She successfully leaves her readers with a message of hope and inspiration by sharing her belief that, through introspection and prayer, one may find meaning within the events of their own everyday experiences.
She appears to be a firm proponent to the old adage, "When days seem at their darkest, surrendering and trusting in the divine will ensure peace and prosperity".
All in all, I found this book to be quite engaging.
The author's reflections on her childhood were beyond charming in some spots, yet brought me to tears in others.
Her candidness about her relationships with parents, siblings, husband, and her own children reminded me so much of my own family's saga, and I must admit that I was thrilled to find a read that tugged at my heartstrings the way this book did! For any individual seeking solace and meaning in today's hectic world.
"Your TIME is NOW: A Time to be Born and a Time to Die" is a beautiful and soulful read. Thank you, Brenda Mohammed, for sharing your journey with me!'

Thank you, Author JB Richards

Could Retirement be Fun?

TOP REVIEWS

A well-written chronicle of the author's experiences and adventures since her retirement from a long career in the bank
By Arabella Persaud on August 26, 2014
Five stars
Format: Paperback
This inspiring book tells of the many adventures experienced by the author after retiring from a banking career at a youthful age.
She talks about her new career in the insurance business and narrates, with meticulous detail, the many wonderful experiences
in her new life including the birth of her grandchildren, her meeting of new friends, her travels abroad, and her continued enjoyment of life. For her, life certainly did not stop at retirement.

Throughout the book, the author demonstrates a positive outlook on everything that happens in her life. Not only did she endure wonderful experiences, but she also had a bout with cancer and a terrible accident in Miami. She interprets these negative events in a positive light by using them to show how her faith helped her to overcome these obstacles.

The author's appreciation of life is evident as she treasures every moment with her family and the time she shares with them.

As in her previous books, the author once again exhibits a remarkable memory for details as she provides a meticulous description of all her activities since retirement. The style is simple and readable.

The book shows that life certainly does not end when one retires.
Life continues and one must live with a positive and determined spirit to continue experiencing the joy of life
and to discover one's hidden talents.

I enjoyed the positive spirit shown by the author in this book. She demonstrates that it is one's attitude that counts towards one's enjoyment of life.

This book is recommended for all retirees or persons contemplating retirement.

An Extract from Retirement is Fun - A new Chapter

Here is an extract from my book, 'Retirement is Fun - A New Chapter:

On Sunday night, the MDRT Welcome reception was held in the Stadium at the Invesco Field, which is the football field of the Denver Broncos. The Adam’s Mark Hotel was one of the hotels reserved by MDRT to be a meeting place, where members assembled to be transported to the Stadium for the welcome reception. The Million Dollar Round Table is the Premier Association for Financial Professionals and has nothing to do with your financial status.

Dozens of buses pulled up at the hotel to take us to our destination. When we arrived there, popular music bands entertained us. There were lots to eat and drink. It was remarkable to see agents from every part of the world having such a good time together. I met many of my other friends from other agencies and we enjoyed the night together.
At the MDRT Conference, on all three days, the speakers held our attention with their dynamic presentations. One of the speakers was a young teacher who won the Teacher of the Year award in America. He said that he wrote a book and sent it to Oprah Winfrey. She invited him on her show, spoke about the book and held the book close to her heart. The next day his book was Number One in America. He used the royalties to open a chain of schools in America. I wondered if I could be so lucky if I submitted my book to her.
Almost all of the speakers were afflicted with cancer and survived, or had a loved one who had it and died. Despite that, they were all highly successful.
In our spare time, we took bus tours of Denver City and the Rocky mountains. We visited Buffalo Bill’s grave and Red Rock Canyon. We met lots of friends from Trinidad and other parts of the world and had dinner with some of them. It was a remarkable and memorable trip.

FIVE STAR REVIEW FROM A VERIFIED PURCHASER

Delightful and refreshing children's stories told from the point of view of a teddy bear, June 25, 2014
By Arabella Persaud
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Adventures of Squeaky Doo (Paperback)
This collection consists of five stories narrated in the first person by Squeaky Doo, a teddy bear owned by a little girl named Marge. Marge lives with her younger brother and parents in Miami. However, except for the first story which takes place on a beach in Miami, all the other stories are set in different locations. The tales describe adventures in Los Angeles, Orlando, on a cruise trip, and in the author's native island, Trinidad. Five Star Review from a Reviewer

Great little collection that will make you think (especially if you are a travel fan like me!)
By Kato's Revenge on February 21, 2016
Format: Paperback
'The Moral of this story is: Never give up on your dreams. - Author Brenda Mohammed.

With a title like Stories People Love, this book already had a lot to live up to. As I read each of the four short stories in turn, the change from fiction to non-fiction made reading this collection all the more pleasurable.

As a bit of a travel fiend myself, the stand out story for me is Travel Dreams of Yesterday. The author writes this so well that you really feel you are journeying along with her.

Is it a spoiler to say each story is a heart warming one (a reference to one of the author's other works) ?

I don't think so. Each element of the collection's opener, A Headmaster's Daughter, twists and turns and demands that you keep reading.

The Dirtiest of All Evils is intriguing as a murder mystery and seems initially out of place. But reading the stories again, it feels a good fit.

This is a neat and extremely readable collection and shows an author who is able to write fiction and non-fiction elements seamlessly. It's not an easy combination and yet the author pulls it off admirably.

I am appealing to all readers out there. Do not be enticed by phishing sites with offers of Free book Downloads.
As an author, I have seen many of these sites advertising my books and those of other authors for Free Downloads.
I have advised Amazon and Create Space but they have not been able to do anything about it.
I have also emailed the respective websites with copyright infringement notices but that did not help either.
Here are the latest responses I received from Create Space and Amazon about another of those pirate sites.

Interview with Author Brenda Mohammed by Quotesrain.

Short bio or SYNOPSIS here on writing as your passion

Brenda, a multi-genre author, lives in the beautiful tropical island of Trinidad in the Caribbean. A former Bank Manager and Insurance Professional, she turned to writing after she retired from the corporate world. Brenda loves to travel and enjoys a game of Scrabble when she is not writing, or reading books by other authors.
She has written thirteen books: - five memoirs[one on her travels], one children's book, three short story collections, three kindle short reads, and one book on spirituality.
One of her short story collections is a zombie mystery trilogy.
My Life as a Banker – A Life worth Living,” is her own autobiography. “Retirement is Fun – A New Chapter,” is a sequel to My Life as a Banker and describes the author’s new travels and experiences after she left the job at the bank.

How long have you been writing and what inspired you to do it seriously?

I wrote my first book, ‘Memoirs of Dr. Andrew Moonir Khan” while I was still employed at the Bank. I did that book out of love for my deceased father who was a Great Educator. I thought that his life was worthy of recording. However, I did not publish the book. I revised it in November 2014 and published it in both kindle and paperback.
I started writing seriously in the year 2013. My first book was a children’s story, “Adventures of Squeaky Doo.
It was about the adventures of a teddy bear with a wonderful family.
I was inspired to write this book in the hope that if I had grandchildren they would read it and remember me.
This is what one reviewer said, "It makes exciting reading for children and teaches the value of love even for inanimate things.”
Another said, “It should definitely be on the reading list for children. This book will enchant both adults and children."

When choosing a name for your characters, what do you consider about them that determines what you finally call them?

I think about the role I have planned for my characters before I name them. For instance, in my latest book, Revenge of Zeeka – A Trilogy, I introduced a female robot, and named her Miranda. One reviewer could not help but refer to her in his review.“The highlight is Miranda (oh, Miranda!), whose presence gives a lot of weight and realism to the futuristic theme and setting of 2036.”

Did you have a collection in mind when you were writing them?

I wrote three collections of short stories. “Heart- Warming Tales,” “Stories People Love,” and “Revenge of Zeeka – A Trilogy,”
At first I wrote several stories as kindle short reads, but later on I put all the stories into the above books.

How did you choose which stories to include and in what order?

The first collection, “Heart-Warming Tales,” are four stories based on real life events.
One reviewer had this to say about the book,“Heart Warming Tales is a short book of stories with intriguing plots and pleasant characters. Although each story is set within the real world, there seems to be a fantastical quality to each. The style of the writing is satisfyingly simple and easy to follow.”
The second collection, “Stories People Love,”contains four short stories of crime, adventure, and love.
One reviewer referred to this book as “a collection of stories all connected by the common theme of hope.”
Another said, "This is a neat and extremely readable collection and shows an author who is able to write fiction and non-fiction elements seamlessly. It's not an easy combination and yet the author pulls it off admirably."
The third collection, “Revenge of Zeeka – A Trilogy,” was only released on 4th May 2016.
The story, which is set in the year 2036, is told in three parts, which are also available as Kindle short reads.
It is all about Zeeka, and his intent on revenge for something that occurred twenty years before.
Zeeka and the Zombies is an intriguing introduction to this multi - layered zombie story, which leaves you wondering what will happen next. In Zeeka's Child, the plot gets more complicated, and after many twists and turns, Zeeka is revealed.
In the final episode, Zeeka Returns, this very exciting three part series concludes in a most surprising way.

Do you have a “reader” in mind when you write stories?

I write for young adults but my books are suitable for all audiences.

What do you do to get book reviews? What is the best review you ever got?

I depend on purchasers of my books to do reviews, but that does not always happen. I had several Free promotions on Amazon Kindle Publishing, and had thousands of downloads, but I received no reviews from these promotions.
I received Five Star reviews for most of my books from verified purchasers, and it is hard to say which is the best review I ever got.
However, I liked the following review of Revenge of Zeeka – A Trilogy by Kato’s Revenge very much:

“Zombies. A mad scientist. A cool detective. Cool brains (and brains all around) and a cool head needed for the enjoyable trilogy By Kato's Revenge on May 5, 2016 Format: Kindle Edition
This is a solid collection of zombie stories from author Brenda Mohammed. I have read each of the three stories in turn, so for potential readers looking at this, I offer a capsule review of each tale, followed by a summary of the series as a whole.
I: Revenge of Zeeka Who is Zeeka? Why is he revenge-ing? What would your government’s response be to zombies waddling around, mixing with the locals? It’s all here in the first book. I love the author’s descriptions.
The dialogue can be a little weighty at times, but it’s all part of the set-up. It’s an intriguing horror that slowly pulls you in. ‘These different plot lines keep you reading, and keep you guessing.
Despite its length, I did not read this book in one sitting.
I wanted to absorb the cleverly interlinked plot lines. In fact, there's not a lot of the mysterious Zeeka of the title in this first story, and I think that's a clever decision by the author.’ Summary: Here is an author stepping out onto a new genre and scoring high. It’s not the best in the series, but it sets up an intriguing premise.
When read back along with parts II and III, I think it is a story that gets better with successive re-reads.

II: Zeeka's Child Oh. It had to happen, didn’t it? It’s not enough to have adult size flesh eating zombies running amok on a small island…we have to have kiddie sized versions too? Or do we?
‘When book one ended, there was what I would call a 'soft' cliffhanger, in that readers would not be annoyed that there was a cliffhanger in itself, because it was a complete tale in itself.
Now with Zeeka's Child, the plot revolves around Raynor and Janet, and the serious nature of having to raise a child that is not his own. This is an interesting concept to feature in a zombie story, which would at first appear to be nothing more than a skin bursting sideshow, and I was a little (just a little) put off by the initial chapter because it seemed more like a romantic interlude than anything else.
This is actually a very clever piece of writing by the author, because it is like she is saying, 'hey, you know this is a zombie tale, I know it's a zombie tale, but let's confuse the hell out of the readers by focusing on contemporary romance for a while.' This could be the first ever zom-contemp-rom, unless you know of another story like it.’
Summary: The best thing about Zeeka’s Child for me was the beefed-up story re the two cops, Wildy and Cole (hey, give these two their own spin-off series!). The author doesn’t drop the threads of book one.
They are skillfully integrated into this story, and it works. It’s a much more deeper and complex story than book one, some achievement in such a short story.
III: Zeeka's Return Oops. Zeeka is returning, and the island of Gosh is not happy about it. He is also revealed to be, as everyone knew, as Brian Cameron (of course, he isn’t, I made the name up because you don’t want the reveal spoiled, do you?)
I expected mayhem in this final third and we do get it. The highlight is Miranda (oh, Miranda!) whose presence gives a lot of weight and realism to the futuristic theme and setting of 2036. The ending is unexpected but enjoyable.
'Zeeka Returns is the pleasing third installment in the Zeeka and the Zombies series. What I have observed through reading each tale in sequence is a significant level up in terms of writing style and character development. That is no easy task in a short story format, and given Zeeka Returns is the longest of the three, it should be noted that it is still a short story. One wonders how our antagonist from book one is going to prevail - or not, as the case may be.'
Summary: Zeeka is a series that could have run on, on…, and into self-absorbed oblivion. A good author knows when to wrap a story up. Zeeka is a trilogy that is done, dusted, and edited well. There are few multi-layered zombie stories out there, so this is a gem readers will enjoy.”

What does the word “story” mean to you?

A story is an account of real or fictitious events. The plot and characters must be appealing to readers.
When I write, I bear this in mind.

What are you working on now?

I have started a new story, “Zeeka’s Ghost.” I have already written four chapters and hope to complete it within a month or two.

Do you have a special time to write, or, how is your day structured?

I write between the hours of 8.00 pm to 11.00pm. It is a quiet time for writing, after all the day’s chores are completed.

How do you promote your work? How does Quotesrain help you in your book promotions and sales, would you like to refer this platform to your author friends?

I advertise my books on My Facebook Author Page, Twitter, My website, Blog, and on other platforms such as Readers Gazette, Quotesrain, Goodreads, and Ask David. I also promote them on several Author and Reader Groups.
I recently became a pro-member of Quotesrain and I am very impressed with their promotion of my books.
I have a fantastic website, which displays all of my books, and I can create impressive book teasers to promote on Twitter.
I can also schedule tweets to be displayed on Twitter.
I definitely would like to refer this platform to my author friends. I recommend it to all of them.

Revenge of Zeeka - A Trilogy

Revenge of Zeeka - A Trilogy, is now available.

The book contains the three stories as follows:

Zeeka and the Zombies

Zeeka's Child

Zeeka's Return

Each book received favourable reviews by readers.

Here is an extract from each review.

Zeeka and the Zombies
A great short Five Stars
By Shazzie on March 1, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
Brenda Mohammed has produced a great short story in Revenge of Zeeka. The plot isn't complex but it has been delivered in a way the reader is kept interested as the pages are turned. The plot is driven forward by dialogue which is I feel for this length of story is good.

Character detail is good and romance and intrigued are played out in this well written zombie story. Everything is not as it seems and the author keeps you guessing. Among the characters is a detective, Jack Wilby. He is likeable and believable. Hopefully, Mohammed will allow us to meet him again in another story?

Zeeka's Child

Twists and turns galore Five Stars
By Mom R. on March 28, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
I was caught off guard and my mind was twisted and turned a few times by the much stronger plot in book 2. Many of the first book's questions are revealed here and I'm itching for more.

Zeeka's Return

A gloriously gory end to the Zeeka legend... Five Stars
By Kato's Revenge on April 24, 2016
Format: Kindle Edition
Zeeka Returns is the pleasing third installment in the Zeeka and the Zombies series. What I have observed through reading each tale in sequence is a significant level up in terms of writing style and character development. That is no easy task in a short story format, and given Zeeka Returns is the longest of the three, it should be noted that it is still a short story. One wonders how our antagonist from book one is going to prevail - or not, as the case may be.

Perhaps it is a testament to the author that her main characters are not necessarily the most important ones for me. Book two introduced us to cop duo Wildy and Cole, and their dynamic worked well in Zeeka's Child, it is far better and more realised here. I enjoyed these two and would read on if they were to appear in another series.

The island of Gosh, once such a pleasant idyllic place to live, is now little short of a terror zone, where the threat of a zombie attack has the residents looking like they are going about their normal business, but in truth, they are not - they are scared, and rightly so.

Away from the police manhunt (zombie hunt?) Steve, Raynor and other friends reminisce about old times with hopes that there will be new times ahead for them to enjoy.

Perhaps the best innovation for the story - and befitting one set in the not too distant future, is the very welcome introduction of robot Miranda. Oh I'm sure by 2036 we'll all have one in our homes, but I like this design far better than Paulie's Bot in Rocky IV (1985 seems a very long time ago when I revisit that film). She's introduced as a home help but this is just one layer to her character design, and it's a joy to see her develop.

Ultimately Zeeka Returns answers the considerable set up given to us in books one and two. Will the now not so mysterious Zeeka pay for his crimes? Will he come willingly, and what will happen to the rogue group of zombies now free to unless carnage on the island? That's the main question to be answered and readers won't be disappointed with the story's end.

The key characters remain strong with the secondary ones providing functional support to the narrative whilst not overloading the story with
an unnecessary plot diversion. If anything, Zeeka's Return is the lightest of the the books in terms of script, so reader won't lose the thread of the story even if they put it down for a while.

Five Star Review for Memoirs of Dr Andrew Moonir Khan - A Great Educator in Trinidad and Tobago.

Genuinely Interesting and useful
By p.rajkumar on March 31, 2016
Format: Paperback
There is a need for books like this one- books which document the struggle of the first generations of immigrants and their children to carve a place in their society , and then provide the foundation for the next generation to achieve even greater success. In broad terms this is general knowledge. What is valuable in this book is the step by step description detailing the road map by which one successful educator did so. What is also appreciated is the incidental description of day to day life in pre independence Trinidad. Congratulations - post humous though they have to be- to Dr. Khan for the foresight in documenting his memoirs for the benefit of those who -generations later - are curious about the journey. Congratulations also to the biographer -his daughter -Brenda - for identifying the need for these memoirs to be published - and to receive a wider audience than just his family, as well as undertaking the task of bringing the book into being. I would recommend this book for its insights into the secret of success and its transmission to later generations.

Poems to awaken your soul - The Miracle at the Wedding at Cana

POEMS TO AWAKEN YOUR SOUL This poem is taken from the section "Poems to Awaken your Soul" at the back of :Your Time is Now":

THE MIRACLE AT THE WEDDING AT CANA [John Chapter 2; 1-12]

Jesus attended a wedding celebration with his mother.
The wine supply ran out at this wedding in Cana.
Jesus’ mother turned to Jesus for help.
But Jesus replied that his time had not come yet.

His mother left it up to Jesus and told the servants to assist.
Six large stone water pots were standing there in the midst.
Jesus told the servants to fill them with water to the brim.
The servants did what he said and listened to him.

When the jars had been filled Jesus told the servants to dip.
And take some to the master of ceremonies” and they followed his tip.
The master of ceremonies tasted the wine and remarked to the host.
“You have saved the best wine for last. You are a great host.’

When I wrote this poem I had not yet visited Paris and The Louvre Museum of Paintings. I visited Paris in August 2014 and I was thrilled to see that there was a painting of "The Wedding Feast at Cana" by Italian Painter Paolo Veronese. It was the largest painting in the Louvre. I bought a copy.

This is what is stated in the records at The Louvre: "

In 1553, Veronese was summoned to Venice where he gave free rein to his decorative talent in vast canvases that blended masterful composition, splendid contemporary costumes, and luminous colors. The Wedding Feast at Cana graced the refectory designed by Palladio for the Benedictine monastery on the Venetian island of San Giorgio Maggiore. With masterly freedom of interpretation, Veronese transposed the biblical episode to the sumptuous setting of a Venetian wedding." For those of you who do not know the Biblical story of this event I quote from a write-up by the Louvre, Paris below: "A biblical scene within a Venetian banquet In Cana, Galilee, Christ is invited to a wedding feast during which he performs his first miracle. At the end of the banquet, when the wine is running low, he asks the servants to fill the stone jars with water and then offer them to the master of the house, who finds that the water has been turned to wine. This episode, told by the Apostle John, is a precursor of the Eucharist. The bride and groom are seated at the left end of the table, leaving the center place to the figure of Christ. He is surrounded by the Virgin, his disciples, clerks, princes, Venetian noblemen, Orientals in turbans, several servants, and the populace. Some figures are dressed in traditional antique costumes, while others—the women in particular—wear sumptuous coiffures and adornments. Veronese depicts, with apparent ease, no less than 130 feast-goers, mixing biblical figures with men and women of the period. The latter are not really identifiable, although according to an 18th-century legend, the artist himself is depicted in white with a viola da gamba next to Titian and Bassano, all of whom contribute to the musical entertainment. The bearded master of ceremonies could be Aretino, whom Veronese greatly admired. Several dogs, birds, a parakeet, and a cat frolic amidst the crowd.
