What Reviewers are saying about My Life as a Banker: A Life Worth Living.
Happy New Year again, Readers.
Today I start a new series of 'What Reviewers are saying about my Memoirs.'
My first Memoir was, My Life as a Banker: A Life Worth Living."
I published that book in 2014.
Winner of Metamorph's publishing Summer Indie Book Awards in Bio/Members second place, here are extracts of what Reviewers are saying about the book.
To read the full reviews go to Amazon Universal Link.
MY LIFE AS A BANKER
1. A monument to the author's successful career in banking as she rises from a bank clerk to several managerial positions.
2. This book would appeal to readers who enjoy memoirs, insider stories of a different age and different cultures, and anyone looking for confirmation of the strength that can be gained from an upbringing that fosters a belief in God.
3. My Life as a Banker: A Life worth Living]] is a wonderful story detailing how the author started at a clerical level and rose to a senior position, solely on the basis of her dedication, hard work, and intelligence.
4. It is an unforgettable account of the crisis, choices, and challenges she faced in her life. It's about facing impossible circumstances, knowing there is a flicker of hope, and realizing that God is closer to you than your own skin. Great writing with such an interesting premise and structure.
5. A quick, easy read, this engaging memoir provides a glimpse of life few of us have seen. Both history and geography combined with the author's positive outlook to bring her story to life. Most enjoyable
6. My Life As A Banker is a fascinating, intimate story. The author has an engaging writing style that draws you into the story and you feel as though she is talking directly to you, the reader. There is a nice balance between the professional and the personal and while I found the professional aspects rewarding, the highlight for me was reading about the author's interesting life.
7. The book "My Life as a Banker" is a memoir about Brenda Mohammed's early decision to become a banker and the successful career she forged throughout her life.
8. She did not give up, and her success was well-deserving. This book is an encouragement and example to all. Happy reading.
9. It was interesting to see how banking was in another country than the United States. Being a banker myself, I found it interesting and could relate to several tasks that are mentioned. I like the way her family was woven into the story.
10. 'My Life as a banker '' by Brenda Mohammed was an inspirational journey. The author's faith guided her through tribulations and threatening circumstances, and she rose above them. The way she faced challenges was exemplary and was reflected by the guidance of her upbringing and her close connection to her family
11. Don't let the title with the word 'banker' in it fool you into believing this book is for finance professionals only. It is actually the true and inspiring story of one woman's immense faith and family that helps shape her into the powerful, yet humble woman she would become.
All the above reviews are five-stars.
Readers, there is only one critical review.
It is a one-star and the headline is Hardly a life worth writing a book about,
You be the judge of that and tell me what you think.
I look forward to your comments.

The Series – Zeeka Chronicles [ Revenge of Zeeka] - Science Fiction/Horror
A Police officer named Bill Grady met and fell in love with the daughter of a renowned doctor at a Carnival event. She was a registered nurse at the same hospital in which her father worked. Her name was Margaret.
They dated a while and when he proposed marriage to her, she agreed to marry him. He bought her an engagement ring, but her father disapproved of their relationship. He wanted her to marry a doctor. Not wishing to displease her father, she broke off the relationship with the police officer.
Bill was extremely hurt, even to the point of great bitterness. He tried to win back her love but without his knowledge, she married another – a doctor who worked in the hospital with her, Dr. Carl Sharpe.
When he found out she had jilted him, something inside of him tripped off. He was never again the same person that he was. He vowed to take revenge one day.
Seven years passed and Margaret bore two sons for her husband – Steven and Raynor. Bill always felt that her first son Steven was his child. He planned to kidnap him.
One fateful day Steven, who was just seven years old, was riding his bike home after visiting a friend who lived in a secluded part of the city. His bike broke down, and he was trying to fix it. A police jeep stopped, and the police officer asked if he could help.
There was no one else in the vehicle.
Steven saw no harm in allowing a police officer to help since they are there to protect and serve. Or, so he thought. The police officer came out of the vehicle, looked at his bike, turned it over and tried to repair it. He then said that it needed to go to a bicycle shop. He offered to drive Steven home. Steven accepted the lift and never saw his home again.
Bill Grady threatened the boy to kill his parents and brother if he ever tried to escape from him. He boasted about his police connections and Steven was fearful of him and did whatever he asked. Bill could not legally adopt him and changed the boy’s name to Jason Stephens.
It was Bill Grady;s intention to use the boy to exact the revenge he planned

"Revenge of Zeeka, by Brenda Mohammed, is a one of a kind novella trilogy that delivers an incredible story guaranteed to give readers an absolute sci-fi treat. I especially liked how Brenda used current events as the pivotal point from which to build this amazing sci-fi horror. This made the story even more relatable. What I learned on my recent trips in 2017
ST. LUCIA
My trip to St. Lucia was a wonderful experience.
St, Lucia has a population of 178,716 people.
My family and I stayed at the Body Holiday All-inclusive Hotel, Resort, and Spa.
It is a fabulous resort with 155 rooms located on a 42-acre plot beside Cariblue Beach on the northwest tip of St Lucia.
It offers more than most all-inclusive holidays and offers a lifestyle experience with a focus on wellness, health, and fitness.
Their mantra is “give us your body for a week and we’ll give you back your mind.”
The resort has a package filled with activities combined with a daily spa treatment.
Visitors are free to choose to be as active or as relaxed as they please.
The beach and the Caribbean Sea are temptingly set out before them.
There are several other tourist attractions like these on the island, which does not seem to have a foreign exchange problem.
The capital, Castries, is a popular cruise port.
Bananas and tourism are their main source of income.
The holiday we spent there was memorable.
CURACAO
Curacao with a population of approximately 160,000 is another Caribbean Paradise.
The island has more than 35 well-developed and captivating beaches, a diverse heritage spanning 55 different cultures, 'live and let live' attitude and unrivaled European architecture.
The language there is a mixture of Dutch, Spanish, and Portuguese and is called Papiamento.
Curacao is definitely one of the most exceptional islands of the region.
Its capital city, Willemstad — a UNESCO World Heritage site — with its iconic colorful Handelskade backdrop and roster of museums, monuments, flavorful restaurants, and great shopping, was selected in 2013 as one of the Top 5 Cities in the Caribbean by Condé Nast Traveler's readers.
Its natural beauty, pristine diving, and snorkeling sites are a favorite with divers and adventure seekers.
WE visited Jan Theil Beach and Harbour Club and were impressed.
This island is fortunately situated outside of the Hurricane Belt, and this makes it a tourist haven.
The Queen Emma Bridge in Willemstad is a floating pontoon bridge that links the "Punda" (Point Side) and the "Otrobanda" (Other Side) of the Willemstad across the Sint Annabaai Channel.
We saw the bridge open and close to marine traffic into St. Anna Bay. It was an amazing sight.
In the event the bridge is open for a prolonged time, there is a ferry service across the channel.
Queen Juliana Bridge, Willemstad is the highest bridge in the Caribbean and one of the tallest bridges in the world. It is 185 feet high.
The bridge overlooks St. Anna Bay as well as Willemstad.
Safety is not a big issue on Curacao.
The locals are friendly, welcoming, and willing to give assistance.
A major part of the island's income comes from tourists.
There is little crime and this is not something about which the average tourist needs to worry.
The oil refinery is clean and well maintained and the oil tanks look like they were painted yesterday.
This small island is a tourist’s dream.
There is much to do in that small island and I loved it.
The family had a great time.
FLORIDA
When I walked into the Broward Medical Center, I was amazed at the facilities there.
The whole of the downstairs was rented out to a Cafeteria, Starbucks, Subway, McDonald's, and a gift shop.
I think that is a great way to bring in additional income by way of rent from the business sector for the hospital.
To read about my many trips read 'Travel Memoirs with Pictures: Exploring the World.
The book is available at Amazon Universal Link and Books2 Read Universal Link.

My Life as a Banker: A Life Worth Living]] is a wonderful story detailing how the author started at a clerical level and rose to a senior position, solely on the basis of her dedication, hard work, and intelligence. Brenda Mohammad describes how the manual work was transformed to computerization, her working at different branches and working relationship with her colleagues Her farewell party from the fellow workers describes how popular she was during her stay with them.
It was interesting to note, as a tradition, the groom used to write a letter to the bride's father to seek permission to marry his daughter. This is what happened when her husband proposed her. Description of her marriage is so beautiful and emotional.
Brenda had an extensive travelling of the United States and Europe; I enjoyed her visits to Germany and Holland the most.
Close knitting in her family and how her parents and her siblings took care of each other is worth reading; It was touching to read how her father talked to all of his children separately before his death. Brenda's belief in God is remarkable.

This book is a must- read for all fans of the Zeeka series.
The book four seemed to conclude the thrilling story and could easily be the last one in the series, but the author surprised me with the fifth book and did not disappoint. Even though the ghost of Zeeka already found his final rest in the book four, someone else who had appeared to be dead, reappears by Zeeka’s grave in Resurrection. One could think that the title of the book points out to his resurrection from the dead, but nothing is as it seems at first glance. Steven and his team of scientists are working on a breakthrough invention in medicine, which can cure severely disabled patients in a way that resembles resurrection. While the series started with possible abuse of medical technology, the last book leaves us hopeful that technology can one day serve us better than most of us can imagine.

A questionable character returns from one of the previous books to cause even more disarray in the lives of the people and robots of Gosh. Dr. Steven Sharpe's reputation is put on the line when he attempts an unimaginable cure to help a man desperate for a new life. Resurrection is the fifth book and closes (maybe!) the Zeeka series on a high note. Like its predecessors, I found this book easy to read. However, this one, in particular, left me with a sense of fulfillment because the author finally seemed to put Zeeka to rest peacefully.

In an entertaining conclusion to the Zeeka series, Resurrection brings the story full circle. If you haven’t read any of the stories in the series, it’s worth starting with book one ‘Revenge of Zeeka’ just to see the author evolve alongside the story and her characters.
For me, the high point of the series was this book’s predecessor, Zeeka’s Ghost, but then, as a reader I do like ghost stories and this paranormal element was handled well in book four.
This final installment is quite surprising as it brings back the rather disturbing character of Nine from book one. Nine is on a mission all of his own, and when he learns of technology that may save him from the Zika virus and help him on his ultimate goal (read to find out) – he’s all for the procedure, despite the risks.
Aside from this storyline the quirkiness of the robot Eve adds some humour to the story. The characters that have been with us throughout the series get a good send off too.
